1. What motivated you to start your fitness journey at Barre Star?
I was craving a group fitness space because I knew I needed that extra accountability and energy. I used to dance years ago, and I missed moving to music in a structured way. Barre felt like the perfect mix of challenging and familiar, like reconnecting with an old part of myself and growing into a new version all at the same time!
2. What’s been your biggest accomplishment or proudest moment so far?
Honestly, realizing how far I’ve come in classes is a huge accomplishment. I remember being completely pooped after my first warm-up and barely walking for days after! Now, seeing my stamina, flexibility, strength, and confidence grow has been the most empowering part.
3. What’s your favourite class or instructor — and why?
I can honestly say every instructor makes you feel seen, supported, and capable of more than you think! They’re kind, welcoming, and genuinely want you to succeed. I was so nervous walking into my first class, but that feeling disappeared fast because of how supportive everyone is. Barre is my favourite class, mostly because I’ve felt the biggest transformation there. There’s something special about proving to yourself that you can do hard things.
4. What keeps you coming back to the studio?
The energy, laughs, and great music! Barre Star feels supportive, judgment-free, and uplifting. Not to mention the fact the instructors show up for us whether it’s 5:30am or 7pm! There’s so many classes to fit into a busy schedule.
5. What advice would you give to someone who’s thinking about joining?
Just show up! It’s truly such a judgement free supportive environment. You don’t have to be flexible, strong, or “in shape.” You just have to start. Movement at Barre Star is truly for every age, every body, and every level and you might just surprise yourself and find something new to love!
