Swaggy Pants from EVM Sports Inc. would like to talk to you about faceoffs and how important they are to winning a hockey game.

Winning faceoffs are critical in all hockey games whether they are for a power play, a penalty kill, or for a last-minute push to tie a game with an extra attacker with the goalie pulled.

Winning a face off gives that team control of the play, whether in the defensive end or offensive end, allowing that team to set a play to score a goal, or to ice the puck on a penalty kill to shave time of the clock.

Seeing the importance of winning faceoffs, EVM Sports Inc has installed a faceoff circle, so hockey players can learn faceoff strategies and positionings, faceoff regulations, hand positioning on stick and faceoff techniques (forehand and backhand), all to learn how to win that all important faceoff.

REMEMBER: Swaggy Pants always says: " Win the faceoffs, Win the game!"

Swaggy Pants from EVM Sports Inc. would like to congratulate the Westville Miners Sports Centre on their grand opening last evening, with special thanks to Colin Dorrington , his staff, and his core of volunteers for making this night a reality, after completing the upgrades to the " Westville Rink". A very proud moment for all, that attended the opening night. Well done guys!!

Swaggy Pants from EVM Sports Inc. passing on congrats to the U13AAA Crushers for winning the U13AAA Atlantic championship in NL today April 02-2023, The Crushers defeated the Knights 4-3 in the finals this morning, to win the Atlantic championship title. Well done Crushers!! A season to remember for sure! Congrats to all the players and coaches for this amazing accomplishment.

Swaggy Pants from EVM Sports Inc saying hello to all the U11AA Atom Red Crushers players, that took part in the Hardest Shot Competition, sponsored by Dartmouth Metals Ltd, that took place at the EVM Sports Inc facility located at 2674 Cowan Street Westville, on March 25-2023.

The winner of this competition was Nathan Cameron taking home the winning prize money of $50 and all the bragging rights that came along with it. Swaggy Pants says " Well done Nathan!! Great job.

The second and third place in this competition is going down to a shoot off between two players #1. Kellen MacNaughton and #2. Ben Murray. Best of luck to these players in the shoot off. Swaggy Pants will keep you updated on the results of this shoot off.

Swaggy pants would also like to pass his congrats along to Ethan Marshall for winning the Goaltender Challenge, taking home the top prize money of $25.00. Well done Ethan!

To all of the other players who participated, I hope you had fun, and we will see you all, at the next Hardest Shot Competition and Goaltender Challenge at EVM Sports Inc.

Swaggy Pants here from EVM Sports Inc passing on congrats to the Pictou County U13 AAA Crushers on winning the right to represent the province of Nova Scotia in the Atlantic hockey championships in the province of NL. The Crushers drive for the Atlantic championship begins on March 30th at 1:00 pm in Paradise NL against the Hitmen, a NL team at the Tyne Valley Events Center.

Best of luck to the AAA U13 Crusher team on their quest to win a Atlantic Championship title. Go Crusher Go!!
