She’s getting chilly out. But we are ready for tomorrow and the weekend snow- First grooming pass on the trails is complete.

The Pembina Drift Busters Snowmobile Club - our local club - is always looking for early season volunteers. Check them out and sign up.

Managed to get out for a quiet paddle tonight. Saw a (whopping number) two other kayaks on the lake. Thank goodness- safety in numbers (in case of shark attack!).

Summer 2026, that’s a wrap!

Confirmed that the municipal campground and day-use area is officially closed as of 6pm this evening.

The lake is quiet.

Most boats and docks are in as families get ready for the winter season and all the things it brings. A late night on the water was chilly- hands are frozen. Good thing my toes stayed warm with slippers purchased at the local Pibroch colony vegetable stand. Toasty warm.

Thanks to all who respectfully used and visited the lake this year. There may be a few more pics to come pre-sledding season, but otherwise we’ll see you out there next year.

And remember, no pooping on the beach in 2027 please! 😆🤦🏻‍♂️ The staff there will thank you for using the outhouse.

Pretty cool!

A Long Island Lake visitor recently won 1st place in a photo contest on a Pentax forum. He’s out here frequently enjoying the lake with his family, and snapped the photo earlier in the season.
