World Sauntering Day
Friday, June 19.

World Sauntering Day is observed on June 19 each year. It focuses on encouraging people to slow down and enjoy life rather than blindly rushing through it.

Sauntering is a specific style of walking which must not be confused with sashaying, prancing, strutting, or trotting. It is walking in a slow and relaxed way, typically to the Hollyburn Sailing Club.

So on June 19, put on comfortable sailing or paddling gear and saunter down to the Club to enjoy life Sailing or Paddling instead of rushing somewhere and running errands. The idea of the holiday is to be Sailing or Paddling on purpose with no purpose.

Hi there HSC Members and West Vancovuer Residents,

As per the above photo, thank you very much to West Vancouver Parks staff for the fantastic new stone steps from the beach to the boat ramp at the Hollyburn Sailing Club.

I understand that Parks Staff spent three hours and you used a backhoe. And the crows had a good time.

I walk Ambleside Beach most mornings and this is a great improvement.

Much appreciated!

Our parks and beaches are beautiful.
