West Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club

West Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club WVLBC was built in June 1931, the Men’s Club built a green in the area south of the original West Vancouver United Church. A clubhouse was added in 1934.

The club was later expanded in the 1980s, and the green was repaired and restored. Over the years, club membership and tournament participation has risen dramatically. Today the WVLBC membership has risen to over 200 members and hosts many local tournaments, including being the home of the Ladies BC week. The club supports many charities including an annual tournament that raises funds for the Lions Gate Hospital.

The West Van LBC’s greens are the home again of the Provincial Men’s & Women’s Triples this weekend. Super two day showdown of Team competition and camaraderie!!! Big thank you to all of our volunteers in preparation and through out. Thanks much to our head Umpire Gaston and his team! Thank you to our amazing Chapstone barbecue crew for their yum protein breakie and lunch grilling - West Van September Bowls is awesome! Best bowls to all Teams going into the playoffs tomorrow! 🙌🏻

The West Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club continues to hit new heights and it is support like this, that is taking the Club to another level. A massive Thank You to Lynne Block for your continued support for the Club, The Sport and our West Van Community. It's amazing leaders like this that keep us on the right track! One of our biggest priorities is ensuring the Club remains inclusive and welcoming to everyone in the community. We are proud to share both the sport and our facility with people of all ages and backgrounds, helping create opportunities for connection, activity, health, and fitness within the community. On Saturday, our Club welcomed many friends and guests for an entertaining afternoon with barbecue lunch and to try lawn bowling at our Community Open House. We were delighted the greens were filled with non-stop activity throughout the event. We are thankful to the Lions Club and Westerleigh Parc for their amazing support and participation!
