Choosing the Right Taekwondo Club
So many people ask me, “What’s the best taekwondo club?”
My answer is always the same:
the best club is the one that’s close to your home and easy to fit into your life. That’s one of the most important principles.
Second, don’t get distracted by how many different things a club teaches. We are a taekwondo club. If we try to do too many “extra” things, it just wears everyone out. Stay focused.
To every parent and adult thinking about training with us: don’t doubt your decision. You’re in the right place, right now. Whatever you’re learning, whatever you’re training; every penny is worth it.
Our club isn’t the best in the world. But I can tell you this: you are not wasting your money here, because we see things differently than most taekwondo clubs.
We’re not focused on building champions. We aim to build people; responsible, empathetic individuals willing to help others with physical strength.
That’s it. I don’t care about winning tournaments. I don’t care who’s the toughest fighter. While others chase that, we focus on shaping the right kind of person; a law-abiding citizen formed through taekwondo.
If you or your child fit what I’ve described, you belong here. And I’ll say this too: there are many good martial arts clubs out there. If we’re not the right fit for you, please don’t join us — go find one that is. Anyone is welcome to try, but not everyone is meant to stay.
