Tonight our Jackfish were on the road in Pelham to take on the Pelham Purple team. Both U15 Navy Junior Jackfish and 15U Pelham PURPLE had their offenses going on Tuesday, but U15 Navy Junior Jackfish eventually prevailed 17-11. U15 Navy Junior Jackfish collected eight hits, while 15U Pelham PURPLE had 13.
U15 Navy Junior Jackfish jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after a dropped third strike scored one run, Gavin singled, scoring one run, Jamison drew a walk, scoring one run, and a steal of home scored one run.
U15 Navy Junior Jackfish scored five runs on one hit in the top of the second inning. Jacob singled, scoring two runs, Nathan drew a walk, scoring one run, Derek drew a walk, scoring one run, and a steal of home scored one run.
U15 Navy Junior Jackfish added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Josh singled, and Jamison stole home, each scoring one run.
15U Pelham PURPLE scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning.
U15 Navy Junior Jackfish scored five runs on three hits in the top of the fourth inning. Nathan grounded out, scoring one run, Matteo singled, scoring one run, Jamison singled, scoring one run, and a steal of home scored two runs.
Nick stepped on the mound first for U15 Navy Junior Jackfish. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and three runs over two innings, striking out three and walking one. Gavin, Jacob, and Matteo each appeared in relief for U15 Navy Junior Jackfish.
Gavin led U15 Navy Junior Jackfish with two hits in three at bats. U15 Navy Junior Jackfish had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 11 walks for the game. Nick, Derek, and Josh led the team with two base on balls each. Nick, Gavin, Nathan, Derek, Jacob, Jamison, Matteo, and Josh each stole multiple bases for U15 Navy Junior Jackfish. U15 Navy Junior Jackfish stole 33 bases in the game.
