Laurier Debate Society

Laurier Debate Society Debate club is a fantastic way to get involved on campus. We have many experienced debaters who have competed all across Canada to help you along the way!

The Laurier Debate Society teaches students the various skills needed to be successful debater while improving numerous soft skills that people use in their everyday life. The WLU Debating Society focuses on attending tournaments on a regular basis through CUSID, and provides the opportunity to travel to universities in Canada, the US, and around the world. at way to practice public speaking and easily the best way to build critical thinking skills, on top of being #1 on law school and graduate applications. (You read that right!) No previous experience is required to join and we welcome new people any time of year! Just come out to of our weekly meetings whenever you can. Initially, debating may seem tense, competitive, and even a little scary! While our club specializes in tournament-style rounds, we are all working for one goal: to improve ourselves!
