We are so excited to announce Serena.mae was accepted to The Royal Ballet in England for the summer program. She was just awarded “Boarder of the Week” and we couldn’t be more proud! Please welcome Graduate #4 Julia Lazovsky.

Julia will be attending The Boston Conservatory at Berklee for a BFA in Contemporary Dance.

Julia travelled to Poland, Germany Croatia and Prague to compete with Team Canada in all disciplines. She grew so much through those international opportunities and has developed into a beautiful dancer.

Her favourite dance memories include representing Canada on the world stage with Team Canada, meeting new people, and being constantly inspired by incredible talent.

Julia says dance has helped her explore her artistic identity and has become an expression of her imagination, emotions, and unique perspective on life.

We are so proud of you, Julia, and cannot wait to see all that you accomplish. We wish you all the best as you venture into a new path. Julia

Let’s hear it for Grad #3!!! Jamieson MacNeil Annajayne MacNeil Jamieson MacNeil

Please welcome Jamieson MacNeil!

Since the age of 11, Jamieson has travelled all the way from Windsor to train at Dancemakerz, demonstrating an incredible level of commitment and dedication to his craft.

One of his favourite memories was representing Team Canada in 2018 and competing in Poland, where his ballet group earned a gold medal on the world stage. Dance has inspired Jamieson to express himself, grow as an artist, and pursue his dreams in the performing arts.

This fall, Jamieson will attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), where he will study Dance Theatre while working toward his Bachelor of Fine Arts in New York City and Los Angeles. His goal is to become an actor and pursue a career on Broadway. He won a $60,000 scholarship to this school from Dance Competition & Convention ! This is such an honour and we are so grateful.

Jamieson, we are so proud of all you have accomplished and cannot wait to see you on Broadway . Congratulations! 🎓✨🖤💛

Please join us in celebrating Kaitlyn Campure Grad #2. Kaitlyn has been dancing at DMZ since she was a young child, growing up in our studio and becoming such a valued part of our dance family.

This fall, Kaitlyn will be attending Laurier for a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology.

Her favourite dance memories are being backstage with her teammates, especially sharing the group huddle and chant before performing. Kaitlyn says that being surrounded by passionate, encouraging people who cheer for one another and unite as a team is something she will always cherish.

Dance has given Kaitlyn an outlet, a place of freedom, and a space that quiets the world and allows her to live in the present. We are so grateful to have been part of her journey for so many years. Kaitlyn has become a stunning dancer and we are proud of her work and determination.

Please help us congratulate our first graduate! Jacqueline Caldwell…
Jacqueline has been an exceptionally dedicated dancer at DMZ since she was only 6 years old. Jacqueline is heading to Western University this fall to study Politics, Philosophy, and Economics, with plans to continue on to law school. Her dedication, determination, and work ethic have always been admirable, and we have no doubt she will achieve every goal she sets for herself.

When asked about her favourite dance memory, Jacqueline shared that she loves the TKO dance-offs, where teammates come together, push one another to be their very best, and grow closer as a team. Dance has given her a home away from home and a family she will always cherish.

Beyond being an exceptional dancer, Jacqueline is a highly respected teacher at DMZ. She leads with kindness, patience, and integrity, and has made a lasting impact on so many young dancers who look up to her. She was also this years recipient of the Studio Spirit Award which recognizes an individual who is always there for others and who gives of themselves generously.

Jacqueline, we are incredibly proud of all that you have accomplished and the remarkable young woman you have become. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for you. Congratulations, and best of luck on your next adventure! Jacqueline ❤️👏🎓
