A huge thank you to all of our players who have attended tryouts the past few days. The turnout was outstanding, and the consistent, strong effort shown by everyone made for an exciting start to the season. You’ve made the coaches’ decisions very challenging, and that speaks to the dedication and skill we saw on the ice. We’re really looking forward to watching these teams take shape this year.

A reminder that B2 tryouts will commence this week following B1 team selection.

Players do not have to attend B tryouts to be eligible for B2 tryouts.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our incredible hockey moms!

The show certainly would not go on without you. From early morning practices and late-night road trips to tying skates, cheering in the stands, organizing schedules, washing jerseys, and being the heartbeat behind our teams, hockey moms do it all.

We are especially fortunate to have so many strong women throughout our organization serving in important roles as coaches, team managers, volunteers, and board members. Your dedication, leadership, and passion help create an amazing experience for our players both on and off the ice.

This Mother’s Day, take a moment to thank a hockey mom for everything she does. Your time, energy, and support never go unnoticed, and our hockey community is stronger because of you.

Bring a positive attitude and support your teammates

We are looking to ice teams that bring grit every shift, strong teamwork, and compete with heart every time they step on the ice, all while working toward the goal of wearing the Lakers jersey with pride.

We wish all of our players the very best of luck throughout this next phase. Work hard, have fun, and be proud of your effort. Good luck as well to all of our coaches as they begin the evaluation process!

🏒 Girls House League Skate Tomorrow for U11 & U13 🏒

Come on out tomorrow for our Girls House League Skate for U11 and U13 tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 PM in Dresden! All girls born in 2017-2014 are invited to attend!

This is a fantastic opportunity for players to hit the ice, have fun, and experience what girls hockey is all about in a positive, supportive environment.

If you’ve ever thought about trying girls hockey or are looking for a great way to get ready for next season, this is the perfect time to get out and see what it’s like!

To our graduating Lakers, congratulations!

Many of you have laced up your skates and worn the Laker jersey with pride for years. From early mornings at the rink to unforgettable games and team moments, you’ve helped shape what it means to be part of this community. And somehow, in the blink of an eye, you’re already heading off to bigger and brighter things.

As you move into this next chapter, remember the lessons the game has given you….resilience when things didn’t go your way, teamwork through every challenge, and the confidence to keep pushing forward. Those qualities will carry you far beyond the rink.

What an incredible weekend at the Sydenham Community Curling Club! We packed the house with two full seatings, beautifully catered by The Black Goose Grill, and celebrated a truly special milestone, our 75th season.

There was so much to recognize and be proud of. From championship wins and impressive playoff runs to honoring those who have made lasting contributions to our community. It was a day full of meaningful moments. We also celebrated first goals, personal achievements, and, most importantly, what it means to be a Laker.

Seeing the smiles, hearing the laughter, and watching teammates come together one last time this season made for a heartwarming and memorable evening.

A special thank you to everyone who helped bring the event to life, from planning and organizing to setting up and tearing down. Your efforts made this celebration one to remember!

A special thank you to WAMBO for the chairs and tables, the staff at the curling club for being so supportive, the wonderful servers and staff from the Black Goode for all of their hard work preparing the wonderful meal, and to our banquet committee for setting up and tearing down. We had a great turnout and it was a fantastic day!
