REMAX Blue Chip Realty is proud to be one of the sponsors of this up and coming young curling team.

Team Grindheim consists of 4 talented young curlers: Carter Grindheim (14), Kade Comfort (14), Nolan Steckler (16), and Matthew Olson (17). The team curls out of the Martensville Curling Club, and entered five U18 curling bonspiels this winter, winning 2 so far. They will curl in Provincials at the end of December in Estevan. Carter, Kade and Nolan will curl in the SK winter games playdowns in February. They curl in a men’s curling league in Saskatoon every Monday night where they are currently sitting in first place.

This is the first year together for these 4 boys, however, it is the 4th year for Carter, Kade and Nolan.

In November of 2022, there was a U15 Triples bonspiel where Kade entered as a single, and got paired up with Carter and Nolan. The boys immediately meshed with their curling skills, talent, strategy and love for the Blue Jays. They left that bonspiel extremely motivated to continue competing together as a team, as did all of the parents. The boys went on that year to have a lot of success, some hard losses, and many challenging games, but never got discouraged and always had fun on and off the ice.

In the 2024 Provincials, the team competed against super older and more experienced curlers, where they met Matthew Olson who was curling front end for Tyler Deorksen.

With curling team shuffles becoming annually and quite regularly, Matthew was looking for a team to join up with, as Team Grindhiem was looking for a curler to complete their team of 4. The stars aligned, and Matthew joined the team in 2025. Of course he completed the team in ever aspect…the boys are so positive, and excited to curl every game.
