Two Brian McLean Chevrolet Buick GMC Ltd. Twin 50's and the same result both times. Charlie Ackerman doubles up for the second straight season to start off 2026 on a winning note!

Ackerman led Kyle Wade Racing and Kyle Cottam to the checkers in the first Twin 50 after snatching the lead before halfway, with Ackerman then having to come through the field multiple times in the second Twin 50, battling his wat to the win over Kyle Cottam and Rob Ellis.

Cottam comes back to BC Late Models

Victoria’s Kyle Cottam will be back in action with the LD Industries BC Late Models for the first time since 2024 this weekend.

The veteran Late Model competitor has been focusing on his Super Late Model as of late but will be back behind the wheel of the Cottam Industries Chevy Camaro for the Brian McLean Chevrolet Buick GMC Ltd. Late Model Challenge.

Hobbs searching for first Late Model win

Second generation racer Bryce Hobbs heads into this Saturday's Brian McLean Chevrolet Buick GMC Ltd. Late Model Challenge on the hunt for his first Late Model main event win.

Hobbs graduated from a Hornet straight into a Late Model at the end of the 2022 season, and since then has racked up a number of consistent runs in his number 77 Late Model.

Ackerman debuting new ride Saturday at Saratoga

Charlie Ackerman's first full season of Late Model racing resulted in a championship run and four main event wins for the Gary Marcus Trucking LTD. team.

Ackerman will run a new car for 2026 after retiring his championship winning ride, with the 42 team hoping for a repeat performance of the 2025 season opener, which saw them sweep both 50 lap main events.

Crocker looks to return to winning ways for Late Model Challenge

Langford's Daryl Crocker missed out on last year's LD Industries BC Late Model opener with a prior commitment, but will be back behind the wheel of his LD Industries Ford Mustang this weekend at Saratoga Speedway.

The 2024 series champion went winless last year and will look to return to previous form from his championship run that saw him score two main event wins.

Wade back in action this weekend for Late Model Challenge

The last time that Kyle Wade Racing stepped out of his car at Saratoga Speedway it was to celebrate winning the Shockwave Seats Reg Midgley Canada 200 last August.

▪ May 30th - Brian McLean Chevrolet Buick GMC Ltd. Late Model Challenge - Twin 50 lap main events.

▪ June 27th-28th - Gary Marcus Trucking LTD. Battle at Black Creek - Two 125 lap main events Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.

▪ Sept. 4th-5th - Shockwave Seats Reg Midgley Canada 200 - Live on REV TV Canada and CHEK.

The leaders in marine suspension seating and B.C.'s premiere short track are teaming up for an expanded partnership heading into the 2026 racing season.

Shockwave Seats, Shockwave Motorsports and Speedway Motorsports Management will embark on an expanded marketing directive for the 2026 Saratoga Speedway season, with Shockwave becoming the title sponsor of the Reg Midgley Canada 200 Weekend.

"Last year Shockwave returned to SMP as the presenting sponsor for the Canada 200," says SMM Marketing Director Cole Sorenson.

"For 2026 David Smith and the Shockwave team wanted to bring the Canada 200 back to the national spotlight while upping their season-long at-track presence."

Part of the new partnership will mean that the Canada 200 will once again be broadcast live nationwide, with Roll.Focus. stepping up to produce the live multi-camera production.

Shockwave will also have increased at-track branding for the entire 2026 season.
