TWO DAYS TO GO! ✈️⛵️💙

With everything going on, we missed our two-weeks-to-go countdown post… and somehow we’re now down to two DAYS until we fly to Newport!

2 days until departure. ✈️🧳

9 days until the first day of racing. ⛵️🏁

Before we go, we wanted to take a moment to thank our Pacific Northwest sailing community for the incredible support along the way.

Whether you donated, sponsored us, bought an auction item, shared a post, offered advice, helped us train or simply cheered us on, you’ve been part of this journey.

We are very proud to carry Cascadia with us to Newport. 💙🌲🌊

Newport, here we come! ✈️⛵️🔥

THREE WEEKS TO GO! ⛵️💙

⛵️ 6 days until our last PNW practice weekend.

✈️ 16 days until we fly out.

🔑⛵️ 17 days until we get our event boat.

⚖️😬 20 days until registration and weigh-in.

🏁🔥 23 days until the first race of the championship.

We are down to one last practice weekend in the PNW, one boat handover, one slightly intimidating date with the scale 😅, and then… racing.

These next few weeks are going to be a mix of squeezing everything we can out of our final training days, sorting the last logistics, packing an unreasonable amount of sailing gear, watching that crew weight 👀 and trying to arrive in Newport ready to make the most of the opportunity we have worked so hard for.

And somewhere in all of that, we are trying to remember to enjoy this part too.

The anticipation. The nerves. The excitement. The realization that this thing we have been talking about for so long is almost here.

We know these next few weeks are going to fly by, so we’re trying to soak up this part of the journey too, learn as much as we can, and make the most of every opportunity along the way.

4 WEEKS TO GO ⛵️💙

Four weeks from today, racing begins at the New York Yacht Club International Women’s Championship.

We came home from the Safe Harbor Regatta with lots of takeaways, lots to work on, and lots to work with.

Our dress rehearsal in Newport gave us exactly what we went there for: a chance to put months of training to the test in a competitive 18-boat IC37 fleet and find out where we really stand.

There was plenty to celebrate: great starts, strong boat handling and mark roundings, problems solved together, and moments where we showed ourselves what this team is capable of.

There were also plenty of lessons and a much clearer picture of where we can make the biggest gains before September.

Now it’s about turning those lessons into progress, building on what is working, finding more consistency, and getting out on the water as much as we can. Every hour sailing over these next few weeks is an opportunity to keep learning and sharpening our skills.

Safe Harbor gave us exactly what we needed. Now we have four weeks to use it. ⛵️💙

Practice event completed! We learned so much this weekend and are so excited to bring what we learned into the championship in September!

Special thank you to the Otorowskis for letting our team stay and for Ben for being the best shore crew and coaching during the practice days!
