Ueshiba Aikido classes began first at Royal Oak Middle School with one student. More regular classes began on 1st March 2004 at Gordon Head School, Kenmore Road, Victoria BC: the first elementary school in BC to offer Aikido classes to its students, according to Principal Mr Brent Kelly. Classes were held during the lunch period. We are eternally grateful to Mr Kelly for giving us the opportunity to share Aikido with his students. After some classes held over that summer at the Commonwealth Recreation Centre, classes then began at the Gordon Head Recreation Centre in September 2004, with grateful thanks to Mr. Jason Jones for giving us that opportunity.
