Tomorrow we begin The Art of the Consultation.

And if consultations are one of those parts of hypnotherapy where you find yourself thinking, “I have the questions, but I'm not always sure what I'm supposed to be listening for,” this workshop was created for exactly that gap.

Over two Sundays, we're going to slow the consultation process down and look at the thinking behind it.

You'll watch me conduct a consultation with a real client and hear what I'm noticing and why.

You'll practice identifying the information that helps explain what may be happening on a subconscious level.

You'll learn how to gather what you'll need to create personalized hypnosis.

And you'll practice the entire process yourself, with observation and feedback from me.

Knowing the questions is the beginning.

Knowing why you're asking, what you're listening for, and what to do with the answers is where the real skill begins.

We start tomorrow.

Ozz's new Ike Loa group begins today.

If you've been watching the videos, reading about the training or thinking, "I wonder if I could actually do that?" this is your chance to find out.

That's really the fun of experiential training.

At some point you stop reading about what somebody else can do and test your own perception.

Ike Loa teaches Ozz's structured approach to Extended Perception and remote viewing, beginning with the fundamentals and gradually building the process.

The new group begins today.

There's still time to join.

What would happen if you were given a target you knew nothing about and asked to describe it?

No clues.

No information to reason from.

No way to consciously know the answer.

That's essentially the challenge behind remote viewing.

Tomorrow Ozz begins the next group of Ike Loa, his structured Extended Perception training.

Students don't simply learn about remote viewing. They learn a process and then practice using it with targets they can later evaluate.

If you've always been fascinated by remote viewing, intuition, perception, or the possibility that we take in more information than we're consciously aware of, this is a chance to actually experiment with it yourself.

There are examples on Ozz's website if you'd like to see what people actually do in the training.

The new group begins tomorrow, September 12.

Someone says:

“I know there's nothing to worry about, so why am I anxious?”

“I know I'm capable, so why do I lose confidence?”

“I know I should go to sleep, so why does my brain suddenly want to solve every problem I've had since 1987?”

We tend to look at those responses and ask:

“How do I stop doing this?”

I like a different question.

“When would this response have made sense?”

That's where things get interesting.

Maybe being alert once kept someone prepared for what might happen next.

Maybe staying quiet once helped them avoid criticism.

Maybe worrying helped them feel prepared.

Maybe food, ci******es, procrastination, or another behavior once gave them something they needed.

Maybe an experience created an association that still feels completely logical to the subconscious.

Once I understand that, the symptom isn't random anymore.

It's a clue.

Now I have somewhere to go.

Instead of trying to overpower the response, I can start looking at what the subconscious learned and whether that information still applies today.

That's one of the ideas we'll explore together in my free live class, Why You Still Feel Stuck.

I'll give you examples and let YOU play detective too.

Most of the work I’ve done with the subconscious mind over the past 25+ years has been therapeutic.

I’m interested in why we do what we do. What has the subconscious learned? What beliefs and associations is it carrying? What information does it have that might help us understand a behavior that doesn’t seem to make sense?

My husband, Ozz, has spent years studying the subconscious mind too, but from a very different perspective.

He uses it for information gathering.

One of the ways he does that is through remote viewing.

The premise behind remote viewing is that information about people, places, objects and events exists within an information field, and the subconscious mind is connected to that field.

So instead of asking the subconscious, “Why am I doing this?” imagine learning how to use it to gather information about a place you’ve never visited, an object you can’t see, a person you’ve never met or an event you weren’t present for.

And I think that's particularly interesting in the world we're living in right now.

We're surrounded by information, but how much of it can we trust?

There's misinformation. There's deliberate disinformation. AI can now create incredibly convincing photographs, videos and even someone's voice. Something can look completely real and never have happened.

We're reaching a point where seeing something with our own eyes doesn't necessarily mean it's true.

So the idea of developing another way of gathering information is fascinating to me.

Remote viewing isn't just randomly guessing or following a feeling. Ozz teaches a structured process for working with the subconscious, gathering information, recording what you receive and practicing the skill so you can see what happens when you deliberately develop it.

His next IKE LOA Remote Viewing Training begins September 12, with an 8-week Basic Training and a 16-week Full Training.

If you're a hypnotherapist, one of my former students, or simply someone who is fascinated by the subconscious mind and what it may be capable of, I think you'll find his work really interesting.

There are examples of actual remote viewing sessions on his site, testimonials, videos, different applications for remote viewing and a breakdown of what he teaches.

We even did a fun experiment where some of his students blindly remote viewed the contents of lockers in my son's apartment. They had no idea what was inside beforehand.

I'll put the link in the comments.

We're getting together tonight for another Ask Me Anything for Hypnotherapists, and there's still time to join us.

Bring a client question, something you're learning, a technique you're unsure about, a situation you'd like another perspective on, or simply your curiosity.

You don't need to be a Horizon student or a trained hypnotherapist. If you'd like to learn more about Whole Brain Hypnotherapy and hear how we think through real questions about clients, hypnosis and the subconscious mind, you're welcome to come and listen.

Every AMA takes us somewhere different.

Tonight, you get to help decide where we go.

Tomorrow night is our next Ask Me Anything for Hypnotherapists.

I never know exactly what we're going to talk about until everyone arrives.

Someone may bring a client situation they're stuck on. Someone else may have a question about something they're learning. We might end up talking about consultations, hypnotic arguments, session planning, subconscious associations, practice building, or something none of us expected.

That's what I like about these sessions.

They're not another class where I decide what you need to know.

They're an opportunity for you to bring what you're actually thinking about and get another perspective.

And if you're curious about Whole Brain Hypnotherapy but haven't trained with me, you're welcome too.

You don't need to arrive with a question. Come listen, meet some of the people learning and practicing this approach, and get a feel for how I think about hypnosis and working with the subconscious.

09/06/2026

One of the easiest mistakes to make during a hypnotherapy consultation is listening only for the answer to the question you asked.

Sometimes the important information is sitting right beside the answer.

A client might tell you when something started and casually mention what was happening in their life at the time.

They may repeat a particular phrase.

They may describe something from childhood and immediately dismiss it as irrelevant.

They may say, “I know this sounds silly, but…”

Those are moments when I'm listening very carefully.

I'm not just collecting facts.

I'm listening for associations.

I'm listening for beliefs.

I'm listening for messages they may have received.

I'm listening for what the subconscious might have learned from an experience and why the client's current response might make perfect sense in that context.

And I'm deciding whether I have enough information or whether I need to follow something further.

That's why a good consultation can't simply be a questionnaire.

The questions give you a structure.

The skill is learning what to hear in the answers.

That's a large part of what I'll be teaching in The Art of the Consultation, my two-day live workshop beginning next Sunday.

You'll also watch me conduct a real consultation while I explain my thinking, and then you'll have the opportunity to practice the process yourself.

One of the most interesting things about remote viewing is the difference between perceiving and interpreting.

Suppose an impression comes up of something cold, hard, smooth and metallic.

The moment the conscious mind says, "It's a refrigerator," you've moved from describing information to interpreting it.

And you could be completely wrong.

Maybe it's a filing cabinet.

Maybe it's a piece of machinery.

Maybe it's something else entirely.

This is one of the skills Ozz teaches in Ike Loa.

The idea is to learn to recognize the fragments of information that arise and describe them before the analytical mind rushes in and tries to turn them into a story.

His system progresses through target selection, intention, initial information gathering, sensory information, temporal orientation and structured reporting.

You don't have to take anyone's word for it. Ozz has sample sessions and other material on his website so you can see what the process actually looks like.

The next group begins September 12.

09/03/2026

Have you ever wondered why you can know exactly what you should do and still not do it?

Or why a reaction can make absolutely no sense logically, but you keep having it anyway?

That's where the subconscious gets interesting.

For more than 25 years, when someone has come to me with anxiety, a habit, poor sleep, lack of confidence, overthinking, or another pattern they want to change, I've been less interested in the symptom itself than in one question:

Why does this response make sense to the subconscious?

Because usually, it does.

Something happened.

Something was learned.

An association was made.

A belief developed.

Or a response accomplished something useful at one point in the person's life.

The problem is that the subconscious doesn't automatically update itself simply because time passes or circumstances change.

So we can end up fighting a response without ever understanding why it's there.

On September 17, I'm teaching a free live class called:

Why You Still Feel Stuck: Symptoms Are Clues, Not Problems

We're going to play detective.

I'll give you real-life examples and client situations, and we'll work backwards from the symptom to see if we can figure out what the subconscious learned.

Then I'll show you how I use what we uncover to begin creating a personalized hypnotic argument.

This class is open to everyone.

You don't need to know anything about hypnosis.

Come because you're curious about your own patterns, because you're interested in how the subconscious works, because you're considering learning hypnotherapy, or because you already work with people and want another way of looking at behavior.
