An engaging match featuring attacking styles by both squads last night. Two supporters sections banging drums and keeping the beat to the game made for an electric evening. The score ended up even also at 2:2. Thank you Victoria Highlanders FC and Lane United FC for the entertainment.

Home opener for the lads Victoria Highlanders FC at new digs, UVic's Centennial Stadium. Not the result we'd hope for in return to USL/PSL standard. But great to see old faces and new on the pitch and in the stands. ....these images are time exposures (6sec-10sec range) with an infrared mounted filter. Not sports photography.... but yeah, best captured during stoppages in play. Lots of motion prior to restarts!

announcing the Legends of Soccer Charity Match.....
event in support of the Archie Courtnall Centre features Vancouver Island born/raised soccer players who have competed internationally for Canada in youth/senior competitions. The event is in conjunction with the Canada Soccer Associations 100th Anniversary and the City of Victoria's 150th Anniversary. Victoria Firefighters are the adversary foes... You can play too... Like and check out the Legends of Soccer Charity Match page often as information gets updated.... Awesome event for an awesome cause.

Sunday, July 29th, 2012 - 3pm kick-off at Royal Athletic Park. Saanich Firefighters providing the opposition. Proceeds in support of Archie Courtnall Centre.

after the Highlanders, the Sea Wolves has the greatest name in the PDL. The local lads did us proud with a superb 1:0 victory. Jordie earning a little spending money from pops with the early second half goal. The boys were on for 5-6 goals were it not for the stellar play of the 18 year old Sea Wolves keeper. A great final home game win... Simonsen keeps his job ;)

Keeping It Real... The Lakeside Buoys reveal the Juan de Fuca Plate in all it's splendid glory. Truth be known... Victoria is the best place on the planet to be a football fanatic.

An entertaining match played out at Royal Athletic Park on Saturday night in view of 1,078 fans. Gorman Thomas scored a ripper of a volley that was celebrated the proper way. The lead could not be held with the final knotted with the Portland Kindling at 1:1. What a frenetic pace at the end too. Exciting brand of soccer that bodes well for the future.
