Victoria Shamrocks

The Victoria Shamrocks are deeply saddened at the passing of the inimitable Elinor Whitney-Griffiths.

A devoted and loyal fan not only of the Shamrocks, but of the game of lacrosse in Victoria since before the club was founded over 75 years ago through her mother and father before her, Elinor will be deeply missed by all of us in the organization.

Alongside her sister, Ann, she was a devoted and loyal fan of the Shamrocks, and a familiar and cherished face in the stands; proudly wearing her Shamrocks t-shirt and earrings, she brought warmth, enthusiasm, and a true love of the game to every match.

Elinor was more than just a fan, she was part of the Shamrocks family. She was loved by so many, and her beautiful smile, infectious laughter, and unwavering team spirit will be dearly missed.

Today, and every day, we stand with all First Nations Communities to commemorate Truth & Reconciliation.

We honour the survivors of residential schools, remember those who never came home, and acknowledge the lasting impact these institutions have had on Indigenous communities.

We are grateful to play The Creator's Game on the traditional territories of the Songhees Nation, Esquimalt Nation, and Scia'new (Beecher Bay) First Nation. 🧡
