Victoria Academy of Ballet (VAB), Western Canada's leading dance school, offers specialized dance instruction for children 2 through to professional level. Under the leadership and direction of Bleiddyn Del Villar Bellis, FCSC-CICB, the Academy established program areas for professional as well as recreational ballet and dance training; Vocational Division and Ope
n Division. Internationally acclaimed artistic faculty, administration, and musicians, support the continued commitment to EXCELLENCE while nurturing a supporting and engaging environment for students to learn, thrive and succeed. The Professional Training Program and Post-Secondary Bridge Program develop dancers who are prepared technically, artistically, and personally for a professional career. These dancers engage in various performance opportunities including group and solo work in domestic and international competitions and festivals and perform in VAB’s shows SPRING DIVERTISSEMENT, WINTER INTERLUDE & TAKE FLIGHT. OPEN DIVION
The Open Division instills a love, joy, and passion for dance. Classes are offered for the full year, September to June, as well as in sessions running for 6 to 12 weeks long in the Fall, Winter, Spring and new Summer. Students ages 2 to adult are nurtured in a supportive, welcoming, and rewarding learning environment where they are inspired to reach their greatest potential. The full-year students participate in the annual CELEBRATION OF DANCE Year-End show. Located in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia, the Academy is part of a thriving global dance community and has been fortunate to collaborate with artistic leadership around the world and has achieved successful placement of its emerging and graduating dancers.
