This season, Victoria Academy of Ballet is incredibly proud to celebrate a very special milestone, 15 years of Mr. Andrew Pronger. 💜
Fifteen years of dedication, leadership, mentorship, and heart.
What many may not know is that Mr. Pronger moved his entire life from Australia to join VAB, having spent only a short time here before taking a leap of faith on our school and community. That decision would go on to shape the lives of countless students, families, and faculty members over the last decade and a half.
As School Principal and Head of Open Division, Mr. Pronger has been instrumental in building the Open Division into what it is today, an inclusive, positive, and nurturing space where students of all ages feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged to grow both inside and outside the studio.
His impact reaches far beyond dance education. For so many students, he has been a constant source of kindness, encouragement, humour, and stability. The person greeting them with a smile after a difficult day, calming nerves before stepping on stage, celebrating their successes, and reminding them that they are capable of more than they know.
Mr. Pronger’s dedication to creating opportunities for young dancers is deeply woven into the fabric of VAB, especially through programs like Boys Can Dance and Boys Ballet.
“Through our Boys Can Dance and Boys Ballet programs at VAB, I’m proud to offer young male-identifying dancers the kind of opportunity that shaped my own journey. The chance to explore movement, grow in confidence, and connect with peers in a supportive environment is something every young dancer deserves.”
Over the past 15 years, his generosity of spirit, unwavering support for both students and staff, and deep care for this community have left an immeasurable mark on VAB. He is truly one of a kind, and VAB would not be what it is today without his passion, vision, and dedication.
Thank you, Mr. Pronger, for every early morning, every late night, every word of encouragement, and every moment you have poured into this school and the people within it. We are so grateful to have you as a part of our family. 💜
