Ever wondered how many calories are sitting on a barbecue platter built to feed five people? I had the same question last night.
Family dinner at Jones Barbecue here in Victoria, BC. We ordered the Papa’s Platter loaded with brisket, ribs, pulled pork, sausage, and sides. It was me, my brother, our parents, and his fiancée splitting the whole thing.
Before we dug in, I scanned the platter using the AI feature in BryksBuilt. The full tray came back at 4,475 calories, 242 grams of protein, 312 grams of fat. My quarter share clocks in around 1,120 calories and 60 grams of protein. Logged it before the first bite.
I’m currently 220 pounds working my way down to 190. I’m not skipping family dinners to hit a number. I track it, own it, and adjust the rest of the week. That’s what calorie tracking is actually for. Awareness, not perfection.
Building this body brick by brick. Sometimes the bricks are made of brisket.
