Oak Bay Sailing School An economical and effective way to start your sailing career and to do what you were born to do: SAIL!! So, what are your NEXT STEPS?....

1.

Courses range from "Introduction to Sailing" and "Basic Sailing", right up to "Yachmaster Offshore" from professional instructors in small classes. You will learn both theory AND practical skills in courses certified by the International Sail and Power Association. If you don't have a boat of your own, you will want to retain, practice and enjoy your newly learned sailing skills and safe boating t

echniques. Join our CLUB SAIL program. For a monthly fee, we will give you a key so that you can book to use one of the Club Sail fleet, during times you want to sail, for half a day at a time, whilst you are a member. No moorage/boat maintenance costs to yourself - just the pure joy of sailing!

2. Join our CRUISING CLUB program. Cruising our beautiful coastline with the cruising club! For a one time fee, you can receive unlimited training up to Coastal Skipper level, use of school boats for practice, and places on cruises for just a share of food and fuel costs. No charter fees are charged to Cruising Club members, which will save you, literally, thousands of dollars! Head down to Oak Bay Marina this Saturday to meet "Felix" and "Phoebe," the boats with the Victoria Sailing Coop, as well as other fellow boaters!

If you want to know more about Coop membership and even to sign up, join Coop members in the Coffee House between 9-10am. From 10am to 1pm, they'll be having orientations on the boats, and a 'work/cleaning bee', as well as setting up times for sailing checkouts from 10am to 1pm.

For now though, check out their website: www.victoriasailingcoop.ca and feel free to contact them for more information on how you can get your membership up and running, so you can get out on the water in time for summer!

What plans do you have for this Saturday? How about heading down to the Oak Bay Marina Coffee House between 9:00am and 10:00am to meet with the Victoria Sailing Coop directors and other members for more information about the Coop - and even taking out a membership.

At 10:00am Coop members will be heading to the boats for an orientation to the boats and a 'boat maintenance party' until 1:30. You are welcome to join them! They are meeting at slip M5 where Felix is docked. If you are running late or are having problems finding them, feel free to call on 250-507-1623 or call/text on 250-884-1820.

Have you had a chance to check out the new Victoria Sailing Coop yet? You haven't!!!

Then head on down to 830 Pembroke Street (unit E) tomorrow -Monday, March 24 - to learn more about how you can get involved! They have as info session starting at 7:00pm.

This sailing co-op is just starting up, and we should be just about ready to file our papers for incorporation by March 24. We will have an (almost) final set of rules, fees, how to sign out boats, who can join, membership application forms, etc. on March 24.

REMINDER!!!

If you are interested in being part of a sailing coop as a means of keeping up with your ongoing sailing fun, you will probably be interested in getting involved with the VICTORIA SAILING COOP which is just getting started.

We are changing our website for a new look :) but the transition is not instant! There will be one or two glitches to start with, (we're actively working with the web designer) but eventually it will be way cool!
