ROWDY AND RESPONSIVE! — 2024/25 was my first full season of skiing, and I somehow managed to come out the other side of it with not only one - but two pairs of Anton’s.
I’ll focus on the pair I bought new: custom, with a length of 165 and a waist of 103. Despite every chairlift expert telling me I needed a pair of carving skis, I followed my heart and chose something I could enjoy everywhere, even on the icy days. Some say that these are “useless” on groomers, but I couldn’t disagree more! They have some amazing and sturdy edges, that held up despite my occasional clumsiness and my “agricultural” spring skiing. During the height of the resort freeze/thaw cycle, they kept me upright and in control.
But, of course, it’s elsewhere that they really shine! They are some of the most playful and soulful skis i’ve ever encountered! Which… I don’t have as much experience with ski ownership and ridership as some others, but I think it’s simple math. They’re springy and agile, but charge through the slop like a pair of cruise missiles. If you give them a chance to catch air, they’ll take it! I’m not much of an adrenaline j***y (yet), but I found that they delivered me safely through each and every little chance I took to push my envelope.
Further to their sturdiness, I’ve been absolutely delighted to see not even one nick in the base. They almost look brand-spankin’-new! Despite being put through it since January.
I absolutely cannot wait to get back on them in November. But for now, thanks to the beautiful art on the top sheet, they are displayed proudly in my living room - waiting for their next ride.
