The Board of Directors and Executive Management Team of the Vernon and District Association for Community Living (Venture Training), are proud to announce our new name: Venture Living.
This new name honours our past while clearly reflecting our continued commitment to person‑centred, full‑circle support for adults with developmental disabilities—work we’ve been doing in this community for more than 70 years. 💙

As Venture Living, we will continue to provide:

🤝 Independent Living Support
🎉 Recreation
💼 Employment Services
🌍 Community Inclusion

Our name may be changing, but our purpose remains the same: supporting people to live full, connected lives in our community.

We are very grateful for our work crews!!

Community Work in Action💚
We ran into Jim and his crew last week while they were cleaning up 30th Avenue in downtown Vernon🧹

Not many people know that we operate multiple social enterprises at VDACL—including our bike shop, Cycle Cycle, our E‑Waste & Recycling Centre, and our community lunch program, The Place, to name a few. These operations generate revenue that feeds directly back into the programs and services we offer, while also creating meaningful employment and volunteer opportunities.

Jim and his team are a part of our Yard Maintenance and Snow Removal Crew. This crew is hired by businesses and organizations in our community for services such as:
-Downtown and neighbourhood clean‑ups
-Yard and property maintenance
-Seasonal snow removal
-Trail contract work, including replacing dog waste bags 🐾

If you see our guys out in the community, please say hello 👋—and thank them for helping keep our community spaces clean and beautiful 💚

Cycle Cycle Update 🚴‍♂️
As the seasons shift, so does our ride! Venture Training’s Cycle Cycle program will pause for the winter starting September 30, 2025, and will roll back into action on April 7, 2026.

🌟 A huge thank you to everyone who rode with us, donated, and cheered us on this season — your support keeps our wheels spinning and our spirits high!

🛍️ We’ve still got lots of inventory in stock, so come on in while you still can and grab what you need before the winter break!

DW, DK, and volunteer Ed are hard at work at Cycle Cycle, making sure every bike is tuned up and ready to ride! 🚲

Did you know DW personally fills and tests every single inner tube to ensure it holds air for days? That means when you need a replacement, it’s ready to roll — and way more affordable than buying new!

Got a bike to donate? We accept used bikes (working or needing minor repairs), fix them up, and sell them back to the community at great prices. All proceeds help keep Cycle Cycle rolling! 💪
