ith the first fairway irrigation system in Canada. The City has exploded, dozens of other courses popped up along the Don Valley (many also built by Thompson), and Uplands took its place among the exclusive private clubs of Toronto - until the 1980’s, when development gobbled up half of the property and the remaining 9-holes were turned over to the City of Vaughan. The good news, is that they are some of the best holes, and on the most exciting topography. GolfNorth undertook a 25 year lease on Uplands in 2017, and have been slowly returning the holes to their original glory. What Uplands offers to the golfing public, is a classic Stanley Thompson design, and access to holes which were once the playground of Toronto’s rich and famous, at an extremely reasonable price. It’s truly a piece of golfing history that you can play anytime. Very little has been changed since the master architect left the property in 1922.
