Happy New Bike Day to this happy bike rider! They came in to talk cargo bikes. They don’t have kids or a dog but that doesn’t matter, they wanted to do more by bike. Costco ✅Hardware store ✅ Take a friend out for a fun night in the town ✅ Have more fun running errands ✅ Often people come into our store and say “I don’t need a cargo bike” which of course can be true, but usually after we talk they realise that they are driving a car way more than they want to. For short trips to carry things that don’t fit on a traditional bike, or to pick up things that are further than they want to bike. This person understood that and ecargo bike can solve both those problems plus many more, not replace their bike but replace car trips that they weren’t doing by bike. Now which one? After a couple of visits and quite a few test rides both with and without a friend they decided on the excellent Load 60 from Riese & Müller This bike is a pleasure to ride, full suspension, gen 5 motor and just barely longer than your regular bike, plus massive amounts of cargo space. Who says Cargo bikes are just for kids? This family came in looking for a bike that could carry an adult. They have been car free in Vancouver for a long time which was never an issue but when a recent bouldering injury put one of them in a cast they were starting to feel like getting around together became challenging. That’s when they decided that a cargo bike could be the way forward. They came in two talk options and test ride and decided that the excellent Urban Arrow cargo was the bike for them. Easy to climb in even with a cast and easy to ride with a large passenger, a win-win! Belt drive, CVT and Bosch motor were icing on the cake. Happy New Bike Day to this happy family of 4! They came in think about their commute in the fall for day care and school. They wanted a way to take both kids to school and care and then continue the ride into work. They wanted something that was small and could fit in the work elevator but was feature rich to keep the kiddos happy and dry, plus carry all their stuff. They couldn’t have described Tern Bicycles better if they tried. This company specializes in functional bikes that take up as little space as possible. Every bike the company makes either folds or stores vertically. This means even their excellent cargo bikes can stand on end to store in tight spaces plus the small wheels make it shorter overall and easier to manage with weight. The best part of any cargo bike is how it carries cargo and not only is this bike easier to manage with weight Tern makes some of the best accessories on the market, cargo bikes are all about the thought put into making them work for all types of cargo. This family took home the excellent Quick Haul Long and added the clubhouse, folding stow decks, a Thule seat, a storm box and the storm shield to put on in the fall when the rain starts. Happy New Bike Day to this happy family! They came in to talk cargo bikes and test ride options. After talking through their needs they decided that a long tail was likely what they wanted but which one? After a few test rides they fell in love with the excellent Riese & Müller multitinker. This bike is a pleasure to ride, comes with quite a few accessories and can be configured how you want it. Did you know that Riese & Muller makes every bike to order? Plus until October we are offering free air freight so you can have your custom bike fast. This family customized their Multitinker in that beautiful Petrol blue, plus got a belt drive and CVT as well as the gen 5 cargo line from a Bosch with up to 100 nm of torque. Happy New Bike Day to this happy family! They bought a used long tail with an e-upgrade kit a couple of years ago when there kiddo was young and immediately fell in love with they rode the bike everywhere but realized that their bike was on borrowed time so they started looked for the upgrade. After test riding and talking through all we had to offer they decided that the excellent Urban Arrow Familynext pro was the bike for them. Everything you love about the Urban arrow, lots of space, belt drive, great handling and accessories. The next adds front suspension and upgraded lighting plus the beautiful new green colour. Happy New a bike Day to this family of 4! Look at that beautiful Coral colour! They came in to talk cargos bikes for transporting their two kids. They wanted something with a small footprint, something that both kids could fit on for years to come, they wanted it to be easy to ride, low maintenance and they are very different heights and wanted to share it. They thought they were describing a long tail like that had seen some of their friends riding, but after talking and test riding both with and without kiddos they realized they wanted the excellent Carrie2 from This bike has everything they wanted plus a super functional rain cover, a folding locking box for easier storage and multi stop shopping and for them it felt much better to ride with their cargo. This is the thing about box bikes vs long tails, box bikes ride better with weight, long tails ride just like your regular bike when they are empty but the ride changes as the cargo gets heavier. We love all cargo bikes but we always say think about your 80% Short ride with kids long ride without perfect for a long tail but if you are going to be full 80% of the time you will likely prefer a box bike. The Carrie is the box bike for people who are tight on space and want a compact city bike, you may think you only have room for a long tail but the Carrie may change your mind, just like this family. Happy New Bike Day to this family! They have been on parental leave with their second and as it started to come to an end they thought about what they wanted to have their morning look like taking their littlest to care and then on to work. They wanted a one kid primary bike with the ability to take two. They wanted a bike with a larger wheel set that felt like the bike they know and love when they weren’t carrying kids. They came in to talk about cargo bikes because they noticed at school drop off more and more parents were arriving to school on a cargo bike so they asked about it. Well we know how this story goes! Ask a family about their cargo bike and it isn’t long before you become a ! This is because a cargo bike is a parent cheat code, especially in the city. Happy New Bike Day to this happy family They have the honour of the first from our shop in Vancouver! They came in to test ride long tails for their two kids. They had a friend with a Tern who loves it and couldn’t speak highly enough. Be careful talking to people with cargo bikes because before you know it you are one of them! One test ride was all it took to fall in love with the Quick Haul Long plus the sale price until June makes it more affordable than ever.
