THE 10K RECON: DON’T GUESS YOUR STRATEGY TOMORROW 🏁🏔️
I spent the morning running the Sun Run route to scout the "Inner Game" of the course. If you’re lining up tomorrow, don't just "wing it."
I mapped the elevation and the technical stretches so you can manage your gears effectively:
🚀 The Georgia Descent: This is free speed. Open your stride and let gravity do the work. Save those quads for the second half.
⚙️ The Denman Reset: Shorten your steps, find your breath, and prep your engine.
🌉 The Burrard Bridge: This is the Testing Ground. 80m of vertical gain. Drive the knees and pump the arms. If you win the bridge, you win the race.
A Note on the Barefoot Vibe:
I did this recon run barefoot to get direct feedback from the road. But for tomorrow? WEAR SHOES. Between the discarded energy gels, water cups, and 40,000 sets of heels, it’s going to be a "technical" surface. Protect your chassis so you can focus on the win.
