IMPORTANT UPDATE: Please read this message from the Race Director of Gunner Shaw Memorial XC Race

Due to extremely icy conditions in the park, we've made the difficult decision to postpone the Gunner Shaw Race scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday, December 3rd.) After spending this morning surveying the course and finding it too treacherous to even walk through, we came to the conclusion that it would not be safe for runners. So the race will be rescheduled for sometime in the new year.

You can keep your current registration, nothing needs to be done. As soon as we are able to secure a new date with the Parks Board, we will be notifying participants of the rescheduling.

Thank you for your support of our community cross-country running event. We did not come to this decision lightly, and we do understand if you are disappointed. We are disappointed too.

The 2022 Gunner Shaw Memorial Cross Country race is on. Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 3rd and take advantage of our early bird discount.

Unlike last year, all pre and post race activities will be held within the Jericho Sailing Centre, where there’s hot showers (bring your own towel) as well as some hot food!

Also, this year we have partnered with the Run Inn in Kerrisdale and they’ll host package pickup on Friday, December 2nd from 4:00 pm to 6:45 pm. (2331 West 41st Ave).

Online registration closes Thursday, Dec 1. PLEASE NOTE in person registration will also be available Friday evening [Dec 2] or Saturday morning [Dec 3] if spots remain open. The 10k race has a limit of 300 participants, while the 5k has a limit of 150.
