Tribute
A much deserved honour, the King Charles III Coronation Medal, was awarded to Marta Kroupa, an icon to many women in British Columbia and across Canada.
In 1974 Marta arrived in Canada from Czechoslovakia, and settled in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan.
Over the course of 50 years hundreds of young people were introduced to our sport, rhythmic gymnastics, by Marta in both Saskatchewan and British Columbia. She travelled to many international events with teams from across Canada, and enriched many young lives through her work in RG.
Marta was installed in the Saskatchewan sports Hall of Fame in 2005. She now lives in Nanaimo British Columbia, and we are honoured that she continues to inspire, and lead in rhythmic gymnastics to this day.
Well, done Marta Kroupa!
