Last week we had 3 semi finals for the club!
The Junior Men were up first, and put on an unbelievable display of football! After finishing 4th in the group stage they came up against 1st place finishers Finnians. The lads controlled the game throughout with their ability to keep the points flowing getting them over the line! The lads will now face ISSC in the final this Saturday at 9.30.
Our Junior Ladies were up next. The girls had suffered defeat to Fraser Valley in the group stages so went in as big underdogs. They put it up to Fraser throughout the match, trailing by just 1 point at half time. The girls were solid in defense with great displays from Shauna McGuinness, Áine Fitzgerald and Susan Cahill in the backline. However, Fraser got the better of the girls by a few points in the end. Despite the loss it was a great finish to the season for the girls who came on leaps and bounds from their first match in June.
The Senior Ladies were up last. The ladies also went into their match as underdogs. They fought hard throughout the match with standout performances from Claire Murphy and Bronagh McGrath in midfield. Unfortunately they came up short on the night but will have lots to build towards for next season.
Unfortunately it's the end of the road this season for our Ladies Teams, but we now have all 3 men's teams playing on finals day this Saturday! Make sure to get out to support the lads in Burnaby, from 9.30 onwards!
