My longtime friend and colleague of 20 years, Jerry Steele – passed his Killing Spirit test with permission from Masaaki Hatsumi and earned his 5th Degree Black Belt and Shidoshi (Senior Teacher) License. Michael Ng also earned his 2nd Degree Black Belt, and Jules Andre-Brown earned his 1st Degree Black Belt. Awesome team!

This is how Real throws are performed – especially when you are not wearing a Gi! Real throws don't involve choreography with someone waiting for you to throw them gracefully from Kumi Uchi. They involve your opponent grappling and striking at you.

Just graduated two new 1st Degree Black Belts through the Bujinkan Dojos of Japan at Ninja Extreme in the art of Japan's Ninja. Shinobi Combat / Combat Mastery is now enhanced with Martial Armour. Now we'll be able to augment training with full-speed / full-contact combat / fight scenarios. Not the slow motion junk you see online that doesn't work unless an attacker punches in a straight line and does not fight back!

I was in court testifying as an expert witness on a scuba fatality case one year ago. In an effort to discredit me on my second day of testimony, the plaintiff's attorney asked me the following question: 'Mr. Munro, what is a NInja?'. In response, I asked him if he considered himself patient. He said: 'Yes.' I then asked him if he considered himself a person. 'He responded: 'Of course.' I then told him that the word 'Ninja' simply means 'patient person' and that he and I were both 'Ninja'. This ended his line of questioning, and in end he lost the case.

It's one thing to practice just the chokes, like many schools do – but how do you actually apply one in a rapid response self-protection situation. No one is going to stand still like they do in many of the demos you see. Lyle 'No Frills' Young, and Michael 'Ultimatum' Ng practice applying chokes (Jime Waza) during combat – unrehearsed.

Recovering from a Backward Breakfall (Koho Ukemi) is equally as important as how you perform the actual breakfall. There are many reasons that you could find yourself intentionally or unintentionally breakfalling, so the 'push' is just a practice tool used to initiate the Koho Ukemi. Lyle 'No Frills' Young, and Michael 'Ultimatum' Ng make this look easy – and it's raw, unrehearsed practice.
