Humans are mirrors.
We look to identify with others or feel into what may be profoundly different in them.
Meet Alan Bolden. In this clip (from our deep dive with him in a luminary panel) he speaks to a philosopher by the name of Hans Gil Gadamer who had a big influence on his life. The message Alan took from this guide was that when we meet others, we have the opportunity to encounter our own prejudices.
Coming up against the other person's mirror allows us to explore where we do and don't connect. By interacting with other humans we are able to reflect on how our world views vary.
A few questions for you-->
-How do you reflect on your own views? Do you connect only with people with similar views? -Do jump into diverse circles of perspectives and opinions?
-How do you shape your views when it comes to the people in your lives?
-Who informs your views, and why?
Living in questions is key to evolution.
If you're up for it, we'd love to hear your answers.
Don't forget to join Alan and our other 21 luminaries for Breaking the Rules of Business As Usual.
