I just wanted to thank everyone who came out and attended the workshop yesterday. It was a great turnout with 20 participants attending. Everyone worked hard with all the push hands exercises we did. There is a vast amount of work with the push hands curriculum, which builds upon what we have been training with the Yang long form in classes. We started the workshop with doing half of the Yang style long form to warm up.

Because there is so much to learn, it takes time, and dedication to learn and train the method. In today’s Push Hands Workshop, we introduced and worked on the basic concepts and training methods for the single and double hand fixed step push hands. At the end of the class I demonstrated 3-step push hands with Michel. I talked about how the basic elements of the single hand training are requirements for the double hand and the 3-step push hands, and how they all come back to the same way we move the body when doing the long form. This training is essential before moving on to free style push hands with a partner.

After the workshop, there were 9 of us that went out for a wonderful meal at a local Chinese restaurant. Again, thank you to all the participants who came out and made it a great workshop!

While in Montreal this last week, I had the opportunity to visit Grace Chui and her students at the Tai Chi Club for one of her classes. In the attached photo, to my left is Grace Chui and her assistant instructor Jérémie.

To my right is Monique, who first started learning Tai Chi with us in 2019 I believe. She was visiting from Montreal, and I suggested she continue with Grace Chui and her group when she got back home. Monique has joined us a few times when she comes to Vancouver to visit her friend, who is also one of my students. We hope to see her this coming spring!

A Tai Chi student's notes on a recent seminar in Copenhagen taught by Tung Chen Wei, son of Tung Kai Ying as well as being the great-grandson of Tung Ying Cheih. This aligns very well with what I was taught in the school of Mak Ying Po, who was a long-time student and disciple of Tung Ying Chieh.

This year we started our summer tour from Copenhagen the last weekend of May. This was the very first time master was teaching there. The class rooms were a little limited, so there were only a little more than thirty students, but the energy was surprisingly young and yang. Because of the first tim...

We had a visitor from the east coast of the U.S. to our class on Wed night. We did a couple of long forms, saber forms and some Push Hands. I have known Matt for a few years online, and we met when he visited Vancouver in 2019, where we practiced Tai Chi together as well out at Glen Park.

Went to Repulse Bay in Hong Kong this morning. My wife started her 17K training run from there, and I stayed to practice some Tai Chi! She ran to Kennedy Town where myself, our daughter, and son-in-law met her, then we all went for well deserved Dim Sum
