The Vancouver Gay Volleyball Association (VGVA) is a provincially registered non-profit society and one of the longest operating volunteer organized sports groups in the Lower Mainland. The VGVA promotes a gay-positive and inclusive environment that focuses on volleyball play, fitness and—most of all—lots of FUN!

Want to brush up on your volleyball and get experience with VIVA’s evaluation system ahead of this year’s sessions?
Come and try out the new VIVA Evaluation system!
Who: Applicable to Beg-C1 open & to Non-members/Drop-ins who plan to try out. Beginners who wish to stay in Beginners are not required to evaluate

Where: Location is Jericho Hill Park pool/gymnasium 4180 W 4th Ave, Vancouver, BC V6R 4J5.

What you need to know: Come 15 minutes early to change/warm up. We will go through how evaluations will be run; you will have time to solidify confidence with practicing each skill. Mentors & Evaluators will offer direct feedback. We will not be evaluating or keeping scores for you on this day. High fives and positive affirmations will be provided in abundance!

How to Sign Up: Drop-in fee is $9.00. Please pay online via VIVA’s Drop-in site. For “Division”, select the division you played in this past year. Then forward your confirmation to Eric - [email protected]

VIVA registration for the upcoming indoor season will be opening very soon!

Cost:
VIVA Fees for 2026-2027 are unchanged from 2025-2026, at $275.

Registration for Members opens May 10, 2026 at 7:00PM -
Any individual who currently holds a VIVA membership is considered a member for registration: this includes lifetime members, as well as playing and non-playing members. If you registered for 2025-2026 and did not receive a refund of your membership fee, you are a member and may register May 10, 2026.

Registration for New Members opens May 17, 2026 at 7:00PM -
Please note, players who have been dropping-in are considered new players. New registrants will be asked to complete a few brief questions about their volleyball experience, to help place them in an evaluation.

Registration for Friday Night Recreational opens May 25 at 7:00PM
