When it feels like your mind is going a million miles a minute and you can’t seem to slow down, try this.
I picked up this breathing technique from a program that offered mindfulness for Indigenous youth; they called it Teepee Breath. You can also call it tent breath, triangle breath, or just do it and don’t get tripped up on the name 😉
Inhale as you tent your arms up, exhale as you flatten them. Repeat for a few rounds and notice the difference 💨
This breath practice not only gives the mind something to focus on, but it also engages the body, something that’s often overlooked when we’re dealing with racing thoughts.
It’s so completely normal and natural to feel anxious in today’s world; with all of the demands on our plates, the pressure to perform, the looming collapse of society as we know it 🙂 It’s a lot, to say the least.
Simple practices like this aren’t meant to bypass the realities of all we’re carrying; my hope is that they can help lighten the mental load enough to discern what actually needs to be carried at any given moment, and what can be placed down. Even if just for a minute.
🤎 If you want support, accountability, and a gentle loving nudge to help you deepen your connection with your breath and experience allll the magical benefits that come from doing so, I can support you.
The Breathe With Ariana Patreon is always open for registration, and an online breathwork journey will be coming before the end of the month. You know where to find the info 🔗
