🥋 Honouring Grand Master Marcus Soares 🥋

Celebrating 70 Years
and Over 50 Years on the Mats

We invite our extended Marcus Soares BJJ family to join us on Sunday, August 2nd, as we celebrate Grand Master Marcus Soares' 70th birthday.

Whether you are a current or former student, a friend, family member, or someone whose life has been touched by Marcus over the years, we hope you can join us. Even if it has been years since you last trained, we'd love for you to stop by, reconnect with old teammates, and help us celebrate this special milestone.

The afternoon will feature a charity seminar led by two of Marcus's longtime black belts, Denis Kang and Hank Panek, followed by birthday cake and a potluck BBQ.

This year, we're also proud to support Professor Hiro Amano's One More Mile (OMM) Cancer Research Fundraiser, with 100% of seminar donations going directly to the BC Cancer Foundation.

Thursday nights at Maple Ridge are a strong example of what makes good coaching matter.

Coach Jon, a 3rd Degree Black Belt under Marcus Soares, brings decades of experience, technical depth, and a high-level understanding of the art.

Alongside him is Coach Zeke, a 4-stripe blue belt in BJJ and brown belt in Judo, bringing strong fundamentals, detail, and another layer of technical insight.

Together they create an environment where beginners can build a solid foundation and experienced students can continue to sharpen their game.
