偷拍系列:双推手。

嘿哈哈哈,卷进去。

推手不是比力气,是借力、卷进去。你推人的时候,有没有过这种一卷就进去的感觉?

We did not invent this.

Bone force, qi feeling — these are not our inventions. They are things people discovered long ago, in their own bodies, doing real work with their hands.

A farmer carrying a load does not push with his arms. His whole body carries it. That is not a theory. That is a body that learned how to work.

What we claim is simpler, and harder: the way back.

Our training finds what was lost and trains it back, step by step. Open the joints. Let the muscles stop gripping. Stand until the structure learns to carry the weight. Then the body remembers what it knew all along.

Nothing mystical. Nothing invented. Just a body, trained back to itself.

Have you ever felt your body move as one whole, instead of parts fighting each other?

Tai chi is not only for people who sit all day.

It came from people who worked with their bodies. A farmer carrying a load, swinging a hoe — that is whole-body force. Not arm force. The whole body carries it together.

People who do physical work know the problem. By the end of the day the muscles are spent and the back is tight.

Our way is simple. At night, stand for a while and let the body loosen up. Standing practice is not a pose to show off. It is how the body learns to let go of muscle force and stand on its structure instead.

Then in the daytime, the work itself runs on that structure. The muscles are saved, not burned through. The force comes from the whole body, so it lasts longer and the body does not wear out as fast.

That is why our teacher can push for minutes without getting out of breath. He is not stronger in the arms. His structure does the work.

If you work with your hands all day, what wears out first for you — the arms, the back, or the legs?

This is Xin Ling after 3–4 years of training. She stands and takes the push, relaxed, her whole body as one. The test is simple: can she stay song under pressure? After three years, she can. How long do you think it takes to learn to stay relaxed when someone pushes you?

Watch the difference song makes. The woman trained with Master Wang. The man has never trained with him. She stays relaxed, her whole body moves as one, her feet stay under her. He pushes with muscle, stiffens, and when the force comes back he has nowhere to go — he stumbles back across the room. This is not strength against strength. Relaxation is the skill: when the body is song, force passes through it instead of knocking it over. How long do you think it takes to learn to stay relaxed under pressure?

Silent version. Heavy pushing is not about throwing someone. It is pushing until stiffness runs out, so the body finds whole-body force. Subtitled version: watch the feet, stiffness unloaded, push hands is the exam. Original post: https://facebook.com/reel/3801834463289211/

This is a full neigong demonstration. Two people, full-body wrestling.

Master Wang shows what Song can do: he stays loose and mobile, so the other person cannot push him over. He lets the other person keep using force, and wear themselves out. Then he finds the moment, and pushes the other person over — easily.

He can do this because he can control not using force.

This is what Tai Chi neigong training does. Song against ordinary brute force. Song wins.

Real internal training is nothing mystical.

It is something you already had, and lost.

Watch a small child move. No stiffness, no forcing. The body is loose, and the whole body moves together. Nobody taught the child that. It came with the body.

Grown-ups lose it. Sitting all day, holding tension, doing everything with stiff arms and a tight back. The instinct is still there, just buried under years of bad habits.

Our training does not add something new. It finds that instinct back. The basic movements open the joints. Standing lets the muscles stop grabbing. Slowly, the body remembers how to move as one piece again.

That is what we mean by internal training. Not a secret. Just your own body, remembered.

When did you last move without forcing it?

Sleep is the only time many older people truly relax.

During the day, the body stays stiff. Shoulders up, back tight, steps careful. It is not laziness. Without a way to relax while awake, stiffness is all the waking hours have.

In our school, relaxation is something you practice while you are awake. Not a pose to hold, not a stretch to force. The basic movements open the joints, bit by bit. Standing teaches the body to let go of muscle force and stand on its structure instead.

That is the first thing tai chi gives an older student: a way to be relaxed while awake. Not just at night, in bed. In the kitchen, on a walk, standing in line.

When the body is relaxed and the structure carries the weight, you stand steadier. And steadier means less worry about a fall.

Do you notice the stiffness most in the morning, or by the end of the day?
