Sleeping in a tent especially with a broken air mattress isn’t ideal for recovery.
While you sleep, your body releases growth hormone. That’s what actually repairs the muscle you broke down during your hike, or your strength training session. Cut your sleep short and you get less GH and therefore less recovery or muscle growth.
If you are constantly putting in a solid effort in the gym or on your adventures and feel like you are not seeing results or feeling constantly sore one of the fist things to look at would be your sleep.
