Vancouver Intermediate Men’s Champions 🏆
The Intermediate Men put in a serious shift against Éire Óg in last weekend’s final and got their reward, lifting the trophy for the first time since 2023 💪
Right from the throw-in, the lads meant business and didn’t let up until the final whistle. We had a consistently small panel this year, but the lads kept the commitment and standards high throughout the season, and it ended with us taking the win 🏆
This result was also for the lads who picked up injuries during the season and had to sit out and watch from the sidelines, Gavin Breen, Shane Bennett, Tommy McGrory and Conor Layng. Not to mention Cillian Burke, who picked up a nasty injury in the opening few minutes of the final, along with our captain Daire O’Caithin, whose game was cut short by a hamstring injury.
All are big players for the club and were a huge miss, but the lads on the field stuck to the task, worked for each other and got the job done.
Congratulations to all the players and management on winning the Championship 👏🏆
We’ll build on the success of this year and keep things moving forward into the next.

Vancouver Senior Men’s Championship Final 🏆
Not the ending we wanted, but plenty to be proud of 🟣🟡
Our Senior Men came up short in last weekend’s Championship Final, but once again this group showed the character, commitment and togetherness that has brought them to yet another Senior Championship decider.
Reaching a championship final is never a given. It takes a huge amount of work throughout the year at training, on game days and behind the scenes. We’re really proud of all the players and management team who represented St Finnian’s Senior Men throughout the season.
The result will sting, but this group will learn from it, regroup and come back stronger. We’ll build again, push each other on and go after it all over again next year.

Senior Ladies Championship 2026 🏆
A week on from finals day and what a day it was. It will be a day these players and all of the Club will remember for a long time.
When St Finnian’s was formed we thought it was important to add the ladies teams and build it from the start with the same tenacity, structure and foresight as the men’s teams. For the past 7 years the ladies side of our Club has grown strength to strength because of that.
There have been many’s a person involved that you can attribute the success to and that in itself is a massive positive, as it has took all of them to get to the top. 6 Senior Championship Finals in a row and up to last weekend all had ended in heartbreak
But heartbreak NO MORE! Our Senior Ladies put in what can only be described as the performance of a lifetime to edge out serial winners of the competition, ISSC, to lift the coveted Vancouver Senior Ladies Championship
The celebrations at the full time whistle will long in the memory for everyone involved, especially the players and management. We’re all incredibly proud of the ladies and we thank them for the commitment all year to get us to the top of that mountain we’ve been looking up at for so long.
A special mention to Oisín Doyle & Shane Fowley, the management team. No stone was left unturned and their knowledge, guidance and support definitely played a big part during Saturday’s win. Thanks a million lads, you did it!
The ladies definitely did the celebrations right with some of them extending the Monday club into a fifth day 😂 👏
Well done to all and we will enjoy this year being champions and by god we’ll build on it now and push on. St Finnian’s Abú 🟣🟡🏆

Three teams. Three finals.
This Saturday, our Senior Men, Senior Ladies & Intermediate Men all take to the field with a Vancouver GAA Championship on the line.
An incredible achievement for the club and we want to wish all teams the very best of luck this Saturday in their Final match ups 🟣🟡

Senior Men’s Championship Semi Final 🏐
The Senior Men had a fantastic win last night to book their place in next weeks Championship Final against Eire Og 💪
Right from the throw in the lads were up for this one and it showed in every possession, tackle and turn over. For 60 + minutes the lads didn’t stop and they got their reward! 👏
The Senior Men continue our great tradition of having booked our appearance in the Senior Men’s Final for 6 years in a row now, some achievement from the lads considering it was a tougher than usual year for us but the lads stood up when it mattered
We now look forward to the buzz of Championship week and the build up to what will be a great match up with Eire Og next week. A massive well done to all the players and management on getting us to where we are, great work

Senior Ladies Championship Semi Final 🏐
Our Senior ladies were in action last night against Eire Og and the girls put on a great performance to get themselves through to the finals weekend, next week on Saturday August 22nd 💪
Throughout the entire game right from defence to attack the team were on form. Some brilliant play in defence and tenacious tackling forced turnovers which allowed us to move the ball fast up the pitch and get scores which kept us ahead right to the end.
The ladies continue a great Club tradition of appearing in the Senior Ladies Final now for 6 years in a row 👏
Well done to all the players and management on a fantastic win and season so far, we now have the Senior Final to look forward to and build up for that starts next week.
Make sure you’re all out at Burnaby Lakes Rugby Club next weekend and cheer on the team 🟣🟡

A big week for the Club starting this evening with the Junior Men in Semi Final action against Eire Og. The Juniors are having a good run of form at the minute and will be confident going into the game after their impressive win against ISSC last time out 💪
On Thursday both our Senior Men & Ladies teams are out at Burnaby Lakes in their Semi Final match ups. The ladies are playing Eire Og and the men will be up against Fraser Valley Gaels for a place in the Final on Saturday, August 22nd. Both teams will be raring to go and these fixtures always produce great football, so we’re looking forward to getting out there and cheering on the teams 🏐

The Junior Ladies were in action last week against ISSC in what was the final game of the season for the team.
In the words of their Manager, Emer Burke “such an exciting game, everyone had the game of their lives”
If that’s not a glowing review I don’t know what is, and it was a great way to end the campaign. It wasn’t to be for our Junior ladies this year but the effort and commitment from the players and management throughout was unreal, you’re a credit to the Club 👏

Last Saturday had our Senior Ladies in action against Eire Og at Burnaby Lakes. It was a perfect day for football, cloudy skies and even a bit of rain 🏐
The ladies started the game with a point right from the throw in and they kept that ferocious pace throughout the entire game. It was a joy to watch, fast ball through the hands from defence to attack and the final product was lethal. 💪
This win keeps the chances of booking a semi final spot in the championship firmly in place . Well done to all the ladies and management on a fantastic win.

Junior Ladies Championship 🏐
The Junior Ladies were in action last Tuesday evening against Eire Og at Burnaby Lakes. The team put in a serious effort from start to finish in what was an extremely hot evening.
Unfortunately the result didn’t go our way but the score didn’t reflect the entire game at all. Hard luck to the ladies but we keep going 💪
Next up for the Junior Ladies team are ISSC next Thursday, July 30th at 7:30pm 🟣🟡
