Posted • BIG BEAR DOWN! "This year, a good friend of mine invited me up to come hunt bears with him. On Friday, May 22nd my new bow showed up and I got it paper tuned. Saturday I went and sighted it in. Sunday I drove up 9 hours and met my buddy.
The first night we sat and had 12 different bears come in including a cinnamon, and a beautiful chocolate. At last light a beautiful 6 foot boar came in but it wasnt what we were looking for. Over supper, we discussed how the big bears seemed to be hitting the baits in the morning. We set our alarms and got up a short 4 hours later. We crawled into the stand at 4:45 am. With in 15 minutes, we had a little cinnamon on the bait. About 45 minutes later, he started getting nervous. A couple minutes later he stood up and tore off.
Just then, my buddy told me to get ready as a shooter was coming in. He came in very confident and layed down at the barrel not offering a shot. I was standing up, cameras were rolling and he just needed to stand up. A short time later he sat up on his rear. It wasnt the shot that I wanted until he turned away from me and completely opened up his whole shoulder. I drew back, settled the pin, and released the arrow. The arrow hit its mark and the bear tore off. We watched him run 40 yards and pile up. At first it didnt look like good pe*******on but the Black Widow Innovations Widowmaker went through and smashed the offside leg bone apart. It was a perfect shot.
This was a dream come true and wouldn't have been possible with out the help of great friends."
