Friday April 10 is the last day of the ice season at Canoe Valley Recreation Centre!

To celebrate, join us for two fun and FREE activities:

⛸️ Public Skating 1 pm to 3 pm

🎨 Paint the Ice 3 pm to 6 pm
- all ages welcome
- paint and brushes provided
- wear shoes only, not skates
- helmets recommended, but not provided

The arena will reopen on Monday April 20 for pickle ball and gymnastics.

The Canoe Valley Recreation Centre's ice surface is temporarily closed for maintenance.

We expect to be back open this evening (Monday).

🎄 Season's Greetings from Canoe Valley Recreation Centre!

We will be open for our regular operating hours of 6 am to 9 pm everyday, except for:
- December 24, open 6 am to 5 pm
- Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, closed

⛸️ There will also be a FREE New Year's Eve Public Skate on December 31 from 6:15 pm to 9:30 pm.

🏒 The Canoe Valley Recreation Centre is reopening today, Thursday November 20 at 2:30 pm!

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George and CUPE 1699 have reached a tentative Collective Agreement (subject to ratification by both parties). More details will be posted at rdffg.ca

The Canoe Valley Recreation Centre is closed starting Friday November 7 due to a strike by CUPE 1699 members.

CUPE 1699 members have fully withdrawn their services and will be on strike starting Friday November 7.

During this strike, essential services and services designated under a BC Labour Relations Board Essential Services Order are not impacted:
- Foothills Boulevard Regional Landfill will be open Tuesday to Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm
- Valemount Regional Transfer Station will be open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm
- Mackenzie Select Waste Landfill and Regional Transfer Station will be open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 9 am to 5pm

Transfer stations operated by contractors and the 155 George Street office building will also remain open.

CUPE 1699 operated transfer stations and recreation centres will be closed.

As of November 4, CUPE 1699 job action states their members will not work overtime and will not work outside their regular scheduled hours. This could impact operating hours at Canoe Valley Recreation Centre and the facility may need to open late or close early for unexpected circumstances.

The ice-making process at Canoe Valley Recreation Centre is complete and the ice is currently available for user groups and residents.
