La Caisse Desjardins de la Haute-Gatineau est fière de contribuer à la hauteur de 6 500 $ au projet Algonquin Nation Junior Hockey Team.

Cette initiative unique rassemble de jeunes joueurs talentueux provenant de l’ensemble du territoire algonquin afin de participer aux Championnats nationaux de hockey junior autochtone à Toronto. Cette toute première édition marque le début d’un parcours de développement à long terme pour la jeunesse algonquine, favorisant le dépassement de soi, le leadership, l’esprit d’équipe et la fierté culturelle.

Nous sommes heureux de soutenir un projet porteur qui ouvrira de nouvelles opportunités aux jeunes athlètes et contribuera à inspirer les générations futures.

The Caisse Desjardins de la Haute-Gatineau is proud to contribute $6,500 to the Algonquin Nation Junior Hockey Team project.

This first-of-its-kind initiative brings together talented young players from across Algonquin territory to compete in the National Indigenous Junior Hockey Championships in Toronto. This historic inaugural team marks the beginning of a long-term development pathway for Algonquin youth, fostering personal growth, leadership, teamwork, and cultural pride.

We are pleased to support a meaningful project that will create new opportunities for young athletes and inspire future generations.

COACH SPOTLIGHT 🔦📸🎬 Our team Trainer and Assistant Coach: Mercedes Cote (aka Gogo) of Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg is a student-athlete, leader, and role model. She made history as the first Indigenous captain of the Midget AAA Gatineau Intrepide Féminin and has also captained Team EDN. Mercedes played on Heritage College’s inaugural women’s hockey team, won the Fred Sasakamoose National Hockey Championship with Team Alberta, and helped the Akwesasne Wild Senior Women's AA capture league and provincial championships this season. She is currently studying Health and Fitness Promotion and serves as the Youth Representative for the Algonquin Anishinabeg Tribal Council. Mercedes is passionate about inspiring young girls in her community and nation through leadership, sport, and education.
