Dance to the music of mark flannigan as we know he can roll out the tunes to make the night a good one!

Their will also be a fundraiser silent auction for the Val Marie Celebrating Centuries as they are raising funds for the upcoming 100th anniversary celebration next august. The committee is currently accepting auction donations. If you want to donate, please contact Jess at the village office.

The stage is set! The Diamonds are ready, lets play some ball!
We get underway tonight with a game a 6:45, then a double header at 8.
We are aware of the possibility of rain and thunderstorms for saturday, but we definitely should embrace the rain. Some teams ive talked to said they would actually enjoy playing in a little rain. So be prepared and maybe pack a dry pair of clothes and shoes and have some fun in the mud!
Now obviously everyone's safety always comes first, so if their is a risk of lightning, we will call off the games until the weather passes and hopefully be able to resume them when its safe to do so. Luckily we will have the beer gardens going starting at 2 saturday and the bouncy castle will be inside the skating rink set up around noon.
Also new for this year, alongside our horseshoe tournament, we will also be setting up a co****le tournament. We will try it this year with a couple boards set up and if it is a popular hit, we will continue doing it for years to come!
Don't forget the food booth located by the ball diamonds for lunch, running from 11-2 saturday afternoon, and the ham supper in the skating rink lobby saturday evening starting at 5:30.

We again want to thank our 8 teams for entering. Summer is always a busy time of year, but taking one weekend and coming out to support our slo pitch weekend means the world to us. It keeps us more encouraged to keep doing this for the future. Thanks again!

2 days away from slo pitch weekend!

8 confirmed teams at the moment. Thanks to all who have entered so far. We are still taking entries till tomorrow night if ya wanna wrangle up a team and play!

We will be starting the games Friday night at 6:45 and 8. Beer gardens will be running as well in the skating rink.

The bouncy castle will get set up Friday night in the skating rink, then again Saturday around 11. Just in time to bring the kids out for a burger or hotdog.

The lions wanna take this time to remind everyone to take the opportunity this weekend to come out and support local clubs and businesses. Here’s who your supporting:

Val Marie Lions club- The club is running the beer gardens. Beer, coolers or hard stuff we will have it all. Proceeds to the club to put back into the community

Val Marie Early Learning Centre- will be running the food booth located at the ball diamonds from 11-2 on Saturday. Burgers and hotdogs, snacks and refreshments.

Prairie Community Club- Hot Supper Saturday evening at the skating rink lobby starting at 5:30.

VM Grocery and liquor- Open on Saturday for all your cool down needs. Beverages, snacks, ice and lunch.

Val Marie Hotel- Food, drinks and off sale.

Here it is. Best weekend of summer!
Come to the ball diamonds and rink this weekend for some slo pitch festivities. Games start tonight followed up by the beer gardens with horseshoes set up.

The fun continues on into tomorrow with ball games and food booth put on by the early learning centre, starting around 11.

Bouncy castle will be set up inside the skating rink. We have two large fans set up to try and keep it sorta cool inside for the littles.

Then head to the skating rink lobby at 5:30 for a delicious ham and potato supper with all the fixins. Put on by the prairie community club. Beer gardens and Horseshoe tournament to round out Saturday evening.

Ok we are approaching slo pitch weekend. I will post the schedule either later tonight or tomorrow morning. Their will be two game played Friday night at 7:30 and saturdays games will start at 9.

I have been questioned a couple times in regards to the bouncy castle. Yes, we are still planning on having it. We understand it is going to be extremely hot on Saturday, so we are planning on setting it up inside the skating rink. We will have water available inside the rink, free of charge to keep the kids hydrated. We may even try and set up a few fans to keep some air movement.

We will be making bbq burgers and dogs both nights in the beer gardens and the food booth will be operating Saturday over lunch time. Then supper will served inside from the skating rink kitchen.
