Did you know?

Phragmites, an invasive plant species, has been identified in Elgin Pond.

The Township has explored several options for managing and removing this invasive plant. After careful consideration, the approach that best balances safety, effectiveness, and cost is targeted spot spraying with an approved herbicide in the affected areas around the dock and pond.

This targeted treatment is designed to minimize any impact on the pond’s existing ecosystem. By focusing only on the isolated areas where phragmites is present, spot spraying will effectively control the invasive plant while helping to preserve the surrounding aquatic environment.

We are aware of several fallen trees along trails throughout the Township following last night's storm. Our clean-up crews are actively working to remove debris and restore safe access.

Please use extra caution if you're using the trails until clean-up is complete.

If you encounter a downed tree, please email [email protected] with its location.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as crews complete this work.

Uxbridge Trail Discovery Day / Steve Snoddon Memorial Ride - Saturday, June 6th

Uxbridge is celebrating its Trails Discovery Day, and the DMBA will be on-site at Elgin Park. We will be celebrating our long-time trail builder extraordinaire, Steve Snoddon, with a memorial ride of the Uxbridge town loop, many of the very trails Steve put so much of himself into.

This ride will depart from the DMBA tent at 9:00 am sharp. Please arrive a few minutes early so you have time to complete the mandatory ride waiver.
