Hello everyone,
The squash season is drawing to a close once more, and we are approaching the end of season tournament with games scheduled through the week prior to the finals on 5th May.
Greg Eickmeier will be sending a further email out shortly with full details of this. In case you didn't know...everyone plays on Saturday in either a consolation final or a championship final...first game at 8AM
Our tournament organizers Greg and Brad are working hard to make this a great finals day.
We will be awarding prizes for each flight of the Tournament, and stepping up in value this year to a $50 local restaurant voucher for each flight winner!
NOW PLEASE READ THIS...
Immediately following the final Championship game which should be at 12:00 we will have our AGM...Annual General Meeting. This is a very important meeting as it sets up the next season by establishing what the organizing committee will look like. Please consider volunteering to be a part of the committee.
The AGM moves quickly and rarely takes more than 30 minutes. We report on the state of the club: finances, membership, issues and the future of squash. We solicit the membership for input and of course make a solicitation to be part of the organizing committee. It really is a great way to make the club better!
This year for the first time, we are holding the AGM at The Second Wedge Brewing Company on Victoria Street, and the first beer is on the club!
As if you needed any more incentive to be at the meeting, as we did last year, we are going to have a draw for an Uxpool Squash Membership. Every squash club member attending the AGM will have their name put in the "hat" and we will pick a name from that group to win the membership.
You will also get a door prize just for attending!
The AGM will be at 1:30pm at the Second Wedge to allow those playing last to get changed and head over there.
Further information on the Tournament will follow shortly, and I look forward to seeing you all at the AGM!
