Top Standard Training Top Standard Training offers a full program for boarding (both semi and full board options) Lessons and Training.

Top Standard Trainings focus is about providing the “Big Picture”. Re habilitating the horses mind, body and soul comes first. The horse needs correct farrier care, veterinary care, equine body work, correct feed programs and correct communication, in and out of the tack, to be comfortable enough to retain the information in a positive way. Therefor making it easier to convince the horse to trust

the tools and re program them for a new normal. Top Standard Trainings program is about communicating to the horse in a way that they understand. The methods and ideas that Ashley Stewart uses to communicate is meant to delete any grey areas or questions the horse may have. By connecting the dots and filling the holes for the horse, you delete those grey areas or those questions the horse may have about what you want. Its not just about connecting the dots under saddle, its also about connecting the dots on the ground too. Ashley uses a lot of methods on the ground to help re program the way the horse uses their body, so that when you are under saddle the seed has already been planted. These tools are useful for all horses of all ages and in all stages of their training. Every horse is different and every horse learns at their own rate. Ashley’s dedication to patience is the key ingredient within the program to create a confident, happy and successful horse. The tools that Ashley provides the rider with, improves the horses balance by simply teaching the rider how to get out of the horse’s way. Its all about working with the horses rhythm and not against it. This allows the horse’s movement to come out more freely and more willingly, creating relaxation not only from the horses body, but from their mind and soul as well. A riders equitation isn’t about sitting there and looking pretty, its about the effectiveness in the saddle and the way you communicate with the horse, always seeing how little it takes to get the job done. Helping a horse understand is a process that takes the effort and patience from the whole team to create success!

✨ Southlands 2 ¾ Phase Horse Show! ✨

What a weekend at Southlands! 🐴💚

Chance and Millie had a fantastic show, especially considering the challenging rain we had on cross-country day. It was their first time competing at Southlands, and they handled everything that came their way like true pros. So proud of this pair and all the work they’ve put in! 👏🏼

And then there was a pretty exciting first for me… I actually got to horse show on Pretzel! 🥹❤️

Pretzel put in a great effort, finishing 8th in his show jumping phase and, most importantly, making it around the cross-country course! 🌧️🏇🏼

There’s something pretty special about stepping out of the trainer’s role and getting to experience it from the saddle myself. I’m so proud of Pretzel and so grateful for the opportunity to compete alongside my riders.

A challenging weekend, lots of learning, plenty of memories, and some very good horses. ❤️

Southlands, we’ll be back! 🐴⛰️

🖤 Georgia 🖤

Some horses teach us how to ride. Others teach us how to listen.
Georgia came to me a beautiful, athletic mare who had lost confidence in people.

But I never believed Georgia was a bad horse.I believed she was a horse who was trying to communicate.

So we slowed everything down. For months, there was no rushing to get on her back. We focused on trust, consistency, patience, and helping her feel safe.

Two and a half years later, Georgia is a completely different horse. ❤️
She is relaxed, affectionate, curious, and willing to learn. She is confidently ridden by multiple riders, works bitless and even bridleless, and has become a trusted lesson horse.

But the thing I'm most proud of isn't what she can do.
It's who she has become.

Georgia taught me that sometimes the behaviour isn't the horse. Sometimes there is a scared horse underneath it, waiting for someone to listen.
And Georgia was worth listening to. 🖤

You were never the dangerous horse they said you were, Georgia. You just needed someone to believe in you.
What an absolute privilege it has been to be part of your journey. 🐴❤️

What a fantastic weekend at the Mrs. T Horse Trials at MREC! 🐴💚
We're so proud of all of our horses and riders!
🥉 Chance & Millie had a great weekend and finished 3rd in their division! What an awesome result after all their hard work.
⭐ Jasia & Merlin tackled their very first horse trial together and gained so much valuable experience. We're excited to watch this partnership continue to grow!
⭐ Nathan & Pretzel also completed their first-ever horse trial together! They took on every phase with determination and came home with plenty to be proud of.
Events like these are about more than ribbons—they're about learning, building confidence, and celebrating every milestone along the way. Congratulations to all our riders, horses, and everyone who helped make the weekend a success!
Now it's back to training and getting ready for the next adventure! 💚🐎
