RIDE UPDATE!

Beginning this Wednesday evening (April 16), weather permitting, we're offering a NEW ride, "BELLAS & FELLAS", for those women and men who would prefer to ride as a group at an intermediate pace. See you at L'Aromas on 12th Avenue! 6:00 pm

ABOUT OUR GROUP RIDES:
Anyone in good health who has a ROAD bike and helmet and is comfortable with the ride paces noted below is welcome to join the rides. Naturally ALL riders ride at their own risk. We recommend you check with your home owner's insurance policy to see what coverage, if any, they offer for such an activity as this. Your attendance at any of our rides acknowledges your acceptance/agreement of all liability of illness, injury to yourself and/or others as well as damage to your bike or that of others.

Our regularly scheduled rides are noted below and are pending weather on ride day:

SATURDAY RIDES - 9:00 AM
- Road bikes only. Helmets mandatory.
- Typical pace: 30 to 35 km/h (moving speed)
- Distance: 40 to 100 km (distances getting longer in the summer months)
- Skill level: Intermediate group riding skills
- Meet at L'Aroma's café on 12th Ave in Tsawwassen (On the north side of 12th Avenue, just east of 56 Street)

INTERMEDIATE-PACED
SATURDAY RIDES - 9:00 AM
(ONLY IF WE GET ENOUGH INTEREST)
- Road bikes only. Helmets mandatory.
- Typical pace: 25 to 30 km/h (moving speed)
- Distance: 40 to 80 km (distances getting longer in the summer months)
- Skill level: Basic to intermediate group riding skills
- Meet at L'Aroma's café on 12th Ave in Tsawwassen
We'd like to offer an intermediate-paced ride as we've seen interest in the past BUT we need a volunteer or two to take it on and oversee the rides for it to be successful. Please let us know if you'd be keen to step into that role - we'd certainly appreciate it!

SUNDAY RIDES - 9:00 AM (NEW TIME this season!)
- Road bikes only. Helmets mandatory.
- Typical pace and distance: Will be determined by attending riders' abilities (over the last couple of years, these rides have typically been faster than the Saturday rides)
- Skill level: Intermediate to advanced group riding skills
- Meet at L'Aroma's café on 12th Ave in Tsawwassen

WEDNESDAY EVENING RIDES - 6:00 PM - NOW HAPPENING!
- Road bikes only. Helmets mandatory.
- Typical pace: 30 to 35+ km/h (there are times that we might pick it up to 40–45 km/h for short bits but will always slow to regroup)
- Distance: 40 to 60 km
- Skill level: Intermediate to advanced group riding skills
- Meet at L'Aroma's café on 12th Ave in Tsawwassen

**LAST Official Rides of the Season** Nov 2 & 3

What an awesome season it's been and we have one more weekend left before we close the door on official ride announcements on Facebook. Moving forward, until sometime in the spring, we'll coordinate group rides through the BBCC WhatsApp group for those who'd still like to get out for rides through the fall and winter.

This weekend's forecast features clouds with a chance of showers on Saturday with some sunny breaks possible on Sunday. Dress for the conditions, slap on some fenders and lights and fuel for the ride.

FAST-PACED SATURDAY RIDE
(ride pace of approx 28–33 k/h)
Time: 9:00 am at L'Aromas
Distance: 50 - 75 km as decided by group
We'll decide as a group on ride day where and how far.

** OPTIONAL GRAVEL RIDE SATURDAY **
Time: 9:00 am at L'Aromas
Distance: 60 - 70 km on the d***s and watershed trails

Looking like our best bet for a less than soaking ride is Sunday! Saturday not forecasted to be as nasty as last weekend but far from inviting.

For those who wish to brave the elements, fenders and lights a must! For those who prefer drier climes, enjoy your indoor trainer sessions! ;)

We'll plan the usual fast ride and intermediate ride with adjustments as necessary based on the turnout. Be sure to prepare for the conditions.

** WEDNESDAY NIGHT RIDES - TIME CHANGE - 5:30 PM **

In an effort to get ahead of the earlier sunsets, effective immediately, we're moving our start time for Wednesday evening rides to 5:30 pm. We'll continue these rides as long as we can as the light and weather permit.

Front and rear lights highly recommended!
