I don’t really ā€œmeal prep.ā€ I get asked for meal prep ideas or for meal plans, but it's just not my jam. I won't give something I don't use šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø.

Eating the same thing over and over? Hoping I’m in the mood for it 3 days later?
Yeah… no, hard pass for mešŸ˜…

What I do instead is prep ingredients. It makes eating better feel way more doable in real life.

I’ll cook a batch of something simple like chicken or ground beef, wash and cut up some fruit and veggies,
maybe make a pot of rice or roast some potatoes…and then I just build meals as I go.

So one day it’s: chicken, rice, veggies
Next day: wrap with the same chicken, some greens, whatever sauce I feel like
Another day: throw it on a salad or beside eggs

Same ingredients, but different meals and zero boredom

And more importantly, I’m not standing in my kitchen at 6pm wondering what to eat and about to grab whatever’s easiest.

If meal prep has never stuck for you, try this instead. Don’t prep full meals, just prep the parts.

It gives you structure and flexibility…which is usually what real life actually needs.

I’m out on a solo overnight tonight.

Trail run, campfire dinner, cold beer…just needed a bit of space.

And then I realized… today’s the anniversary of my dad passing. Year 5.

Usually I see this date coming. It kind of sits with me for a while before it actually gets here. But this year… it just showed up.

And I don’t know, that caught me off guard a bit.

Especially after losing my mom in March… I thought this one might hit harder, not quieter. But maybe that means something.

Maybe it’s healing… or maybe it’s just life continuing to move and me learning how to move with it.

Either way, I’m out here today. Getting some air, moving my body, sitting with it instead of overthinking it.

He loved being outside. Country boy at heart and never said no to a cold beer!

I think he’d be pretty happy knowing I’m out here doing this.

So yeah… this one’s for him šŸ¤

This is my kind of workout!

I don’t overcomplicate it and I don’t spend an hour deciding what to do. I just run through a few movements, repeat it a couple times, and I’m done.

It’s quick, it’s simple… and it works. Because I’m not trying to build my whole life around the gym.

I’m trying to build a life that includes it. These workouts fit into my day instead of taking it over and that’s what lets me stay consistent.

I can still go for walks, be outside,do things with my family..actually live my life!

And my body still benefits from all of it. With Refire Life I'm hoping to show you don’t need workouts that feel like a full production.

You need something you’ll actually do on a random day when you’re a bit tired, a bit busy, and not in the mood.

Try this:
pick a few movements
run through them
repeat it a couple times as circuits
And you're done!

That’s enough.

It counts more than the perfect plan you never feel like starting.

Tested out my SUV camping setup…which is new for me and I was mostly just hoping for the best šŸ˜…

But the point wasn’t to have it perfect. It was to make it easier to get out here.

Because this...being outside, fresh air, walking around, exploring, doing something different...this is a version of health and fitness we don’t talk about enough.

Not a workout. Not something you have to ā€œget throughā€. Just… moving your body while you’re living your life.

I think we’ve made fitness feel like it only counts if it’s structured, planned, and done a certain way.

But some of the best movement happens when you’re not thinking about it like that at all.

You’re just outside, you’re just doing something, you’re just in it. And your body benefits from it anyway.

That’s what I want more of. Less forcing it. More living… where movement just comes with it!

Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes…small, large, circle, square, stuffed crust šŸ˜ŒšŸ•

Honestly… this is your reminder that not everything needs to be so serious all the time.

You can care about your health and still enjoy your food. You can move your body and still live your life. It doesn’t, and shouldn't, be all or nothing.

Sometimes balance looks like a walk, some fresh food…
and sometimes it looks like pizza and a laugh on a Friday night.

Both count. Both are part of real life.

And real life is kind of the whole point, isn't it?

I attempted my first ever mountain bike trail ride yesterday. I didn’t feel ready for this. Was not confident. Was not skilled. I just did it anyway.

Took breaks. Second guessed myself. Probably looked like I had no idea what I was doing… because I didn’t šŸ˜…

But that’s kind of the point! We’ve somehow convinced ourselves that if we’re not good at something, we shouldn’t do it.

Or we wait until we feel more ready, more capable… less awkward.

Meanwhile, real life is happening outside of that.

This....figuring it out as I go, taking breaks, getting a little better with each part...that’s the version that actually counts.

Not because it’s a ā€œworkoutā€, but because it’s an experience. Fresh air, a challenge, something new, a view at the top I wouldn’t have seen if I stayed comfortable.

You’re allowed to be bad at things.
You’re allowed to try anyway.

And sometimes… that’s where the best parts of life are. šŸ˜

REFIRE HACK šŸ”„
The Sneak it in Method

I stopped waiting for a full workout and started sneaking movement into my day instead. Just little moments where I think, ā€œmight as well move a bit while I’m hereā€

Coffee brewing? Walk around or stretch
Dinner’s in the oven? Quick loop outside
About to shower? A few dumbbell sets
Scrolling anyway? Get up and do something instead

If trying to fit in a whole planned workout feels too heavy, this method adds up!

Most days don’t have this perfect, open hour where everything lines up. But they do have small pockets!

So I use those.

If you feel like you don’t have time try this for yourself. Don’t look for a workout. Just sneak in 5–10 minutes somewhere in your day.

That counts more than waiting for the right time, that we all know never shows up!

I don’t think most people lack motivation.

I think they’ve just turned everything into a full production.

Eating better = new recipes, meal plans, overhaul your kitchen
Working out = full program, an hour every day...
Getting back on track = fresh start, Monday, perfect plan

No wonder you don’t feel like doing it. It’s exhausting before you even start!

What if it was just…

- eat something real first
- move your body a bit
- go outside, sit in the sun, reset your head for a minute

That’s it. Something doable.

This video of me by the water, eating a sandwich, reading a few pages...counts more than the plan I keep putting off.

You don’t need more motivation. You need things that don’t feel like a whole event to begin!

Start small. It works!

I've been guilty of turning movement into just another thing to check off. You?

Getting stuck in the mindset of just get the steps in, do it for the tracker, check it off the list, etc...

But it’s funny how different it feels when you go outside without treating it like a task. No pace to hit. No number you’re chasing.

And suddenly you notice things you’d normally walk right past…

- Geese and their babies soaking up the sun
- Flowers and greenery popping colour everywhere
- A huge number of swans just vibing 🤣

If we're just walking for steps, we might miss these wonders! I’m not saying tracking is bad, I still do track...But not every walk has to be something you complete on a to-do list.

Sometimes it can be just something you experience.

And the steps? Well, they kind of just… happen anyway. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

One thing that’s made eating better feel way easier for me is that I have up trying to eat perfectlĀ  and just made my lazy options a bit better. Cause...let's be real, that's the reality most days 🤣.

Most days I’m not up to cooking some balanced meal from scratch. I’m just hungry and want something fast. You know?

So now I keep a few go-to things ready:
- I’ll cook a pack of chicken or ground turkey (or any protein of choice) and keep it in the fridge.
- Wash and cut up fruit and veggies so it’s already there (grab and go!).
- Have things like wraps, rice, eggs, yogurt, bagged salad.

So when I’m starving and don’t feel like thinking, it’s more like:
– throw chicken, salad mix, and dressing in a bowl
– wrap with turkey, cheese, and whatever veggies are there
– yogurt, fruit, and some granola
– eggs and toast with fruit on the side

Nothing fancy. No recipe. Takes like 5-10 minutes. But it’s way better than standing in the kitchen debating what to eat and ending up grabbing something of low nutritional value.

I don’t try to be on track anymore...I just make the better option easier to grab when I’m not in the mood to try.

That’s what’s actually stuck for me. I plan for lazy šŸ˜Ž.Ā

What’s your current go-to when you’re starving and don’t feel like thinking?
