Just a girl and her dog.

I’ve heard about the divine bond others have developed with their animals, how devastating their passing was, how they couldn’t imagine attempting to replace that space with something new.

I listened to these stories and heard them but I couldn’t feel the depth of that truth. Until I was privileged with the presence of Kiera in my life. I have no idea what this freedom chapter of my life would have looked like without her. Her number one lesson to me was boundaries, extraordinary for the greater part of my life I had neglected to place perimeters around my open heart. Witnessing her allow uninvited touch or play while beginning to drop stern hints of her discontentment, if the behaviour of the other preceded she would then drop the wall. Stop 🛑!

She has the skill of discernment, asserting whether someone’s intentions are good or self seeking… surprisingly the man to woman ration is significantly one sided 🤷‍♀️.

Not only is she extremely intelligent she knows when I need a soft lick on the cheek, a wee bit more of a push to go for a walk and is always ready for an adventure without fear.

I truly believe Kiera has a powerful spirit. When the Holy Spirit calls on me to approach a stranger or give to someone in need and I hesitate she strongly leads me the righteous way!

Kiera has encouraged me to purchase my first vehicle in order to have more adventures. She has encouraged me to travel 🧳, play without hesitation and bring joy to others just by letting my spirit shine through.

You are my best friend, my mentor, my protector, adventure buddy and a daily reminder that I am deeply loved.

So grateful that God brought us together for such a time as this. 😇🌊🧡⚽️🏔

Dearest Susan:

It’s been just over a year since God picked you up from earth and offered you a space in heaven to sing amidst the angels. I expressed in words the events in which unfolded before visiting you amidst your final days. The lessons you presented me have changed my life drastically, your voice fills my soul now encouraging me to jump when fear attempts to fill my feet with lead. Your display of unconditional love for others while neglecting yourself has me wired to prioritize my life in a way that only allows love to overflow in excess. The prayers we shared and conversations regarding the endless transformative powers our heaven father possess has built my faith and upgraded my hope. I fully believed you’d come back to life on that hospital bed but now I see leaving this earthly realm was you finally choosing life and knowing that I am so extremely proud of you!

I love you my sister in Christ, until it’s time to rejoin you and dance amidst the clouds I promise to dance today looking up remembering the time is NOW!

Flash Back Friday

The crashing of the waves 🌊 on a daily bases affirm that even amidst painful circumstances I can get through hard things.

Grief of my past life comes to visit me often, just like the waves I allow the memories to crash over me. Often leaving me teary eyed, I do ultimately feel cleansed by its wash.

What you neglect to feel, you prolong to heal. I need to heal! My unhealed self has had me running the same course only to be frustrated with the repetitive outcome of my unchanged route. If I don’t actively change my ways of thinking, being and believing I will never live the life I dream.

Here’s to those who are unfolding themselves, discovering their false realities and their authentic callings. Here’s to those consciously taking the road untraveled to forge a new life they know is beyond the forest. I pray light guides you to your destination, that angels protect you from those eager to steer you back to your old realms of comfort and may the music of these magical new forests encourage you to look up and breathe.

It’s okay to feel all of it.
It’s okay to ground yourself amidst the waves.
It’s okay to cry over a memory.
It’s okay to miss them.
It’s more then okay, it’s beautiful!

All these growing pains are essential to the metamorphosis you’re building up to.

Have you ever looked up the meaning of your name?

If not I strongly encourage you to. I find it fun and fairly insightful. Children are a gift to this world, now I don’t have children myself but I am an aunt to 9. I’ve also been honoured to witness the immediate love connection a mother has to her enfant, granted they have had a whole 9 months of growing a relationship together before meeting face to face, so naming can be such a beautiful intuitive message.

My name is Jill, not Jillian which I slightly resented growing up because Jillian just seemed to have an extra ring to it. But I’ve grown to appreciate it; easy to remember, extremely simple to write for a toddler and you can use your hand 🤚 to spell it out. Thumb and pointer finger is a j, middle finger bent is your i and the index finger and pinky makes up the remaining two L’s. Pretty cool if you ask me (unfortunately came to this realization after my brothers friends jokingly said they’d been to bed with me 😒🤮)

Our names have a few interpretations depending on the origin you seek.

The Latin Origin is the one I’ve know for sometime now: Youthful and/or Child of God. Now the accuracy is uncanny, I will always have a permanent spot at the kiddy table which is fine by me. Conversation stand point seem to bounce off each other like a rouge bouncy ball and I never need to chew with my mouth closed. As a Child of God and a woman caught in the Neverland mindset worry & fear never seem to hold me captive… for long. It’s like my deeper sense of knowing frees me to jump it to my Fathers arms full of faith that I’ll be caught.

Now just shy of a week ago I was asked what the Greek meaning of my name was… well here it is: Downy-bearded or downy-haired. First off my insecurities of sparse chin hair from my consequences of taking PEDs 7 years ago clouded my mind but then I decided to look up what downy-haired was this is what I received; covered with soft fine hair or feathers. I’m taking the feathers 🪶👼
