For many of us, coaching is not only a way to give back but gives us the opportunity to stay involved in a sport that we love!

As for me, coaching gave me something positive to focus on and It's also kinda fun!

The Canadian squad entered the weekend as the top-ranked team and went undefeated through the preliminary games against Romania, France and Lithuania before beating Germany in the semifinal and France in the final.

Although Canada fell to France in the 3x3 World Cup final earlier in the summer, the win in the Women's Series proved they are the best in the world, particularly with their first-choice roster. 💪

If you're thinking it.... try it❗️

As the school year is underway, many schools will be holding tryouts for their various sports teams which is very exciting time!

For us coaches, it's been a long summer and we missed you. But we do realize that it takes a lot of courage to tryout for a team. To put yourself out there - wondering if you'll be good enough - but now is your time!

I get asked all the time about how to go into a tryout. Here's the advice I give:

* be early
* be ready
* pay attention to the coach
* leave it all out there
