10 habits that changed my life before 26:
1. Shift your identity.
Goals are great, but what matters most is who you become in the process. Focus on building the habits, discipline, and mindset of the person capable of achieving those goals.
2. Surround yourself with people who inspire you.
Some of my biggest periods of growth came from being in rooms with people who were operating at a higher level than me. The right environment will challenge you, inspire you, and push you to become better.
3. Invest in skills, not outcomes.
Most people become obsessed with the result, but every result is built on a set of skills. Focus on improving your communication, leadership, fitness, discipline, and ability to learn. When you develop the right skills, the outcomes take care of themselves.
4. Prioritize your health.
Whether that means strength training, running, meal prepping, journaling, or something else, find what works for you and commit to it. Your health impacts every area of your life.
5. Build commitment through accountability.
Motivation comes and goes, but accountability keeps you moving forward. Hire a coach, find a mentor, or surround yourself with people who hold you to a higher standard. You can accomplish a lot alone, but you’ll often go further with guidance and support.
6. Set boundaries and stick to them.
Whether it’s work or your personal life, without boundaries you can’t focus on the things that truly matter to you.
7. Read more and consume less.
Spend less time scrolling and more time learning. A few pages a day can teach you more than hours of mindless content consumption.
8. Keep promises to yourself.
Self-confidence isn’t built by positive thinking alone. It’s built by proving to yourself, over and over again, that you’ll do what you said you were going to do.
9. Learn how to be alone.
Your peace shouldn’t depend on constant attention, relationships, or external validation. Learn to enjoy your own company and you’ll become much harder to shake.
10. Understand that life isn’t a race.
You’re not behind, and you’re not competing with anyone else. Focus on becoming 1% better each day and trust that the results will come with time.
