🏏🔥 CREATE ROOM. CONNECT THE MOVEMENT. DEVELOP THE POWER.

Front-foot clearance • Hip & core rotation • Controlled downswing • Steady head • Arm extension • Full follow-through

Working with Abraash Khan on creating space for the bat when attacking a fuller delivery: clearing the front foot slightly while maintaining a stable base, coordinating the hips and torso through the downswing, and keeping the head steady with eyes tracking the ball into contact.

The focus is clean contact, extension through the hitting zone and a full, flowing follow-through. Foot movement must suit the ball’s line, length and intended scoring area.

Big shots begin with purposeful practice. Build the movement, develop your timing and grow your confidence through repetition. 💪🎯

🏏 BUILD YOUR PULL SHOT — TURN RESTRICTION INTO CONTROL.

Small technical changes can make a visible difference. This before-and-after shows the work behind a cleaner, more controlled pull shot.

🔴 BEFORE: Limited arm extension, hands crossing the eyeline and restricted hip rotation.

🟢 AFTER: Better arm extension, a clearer view of the ball and improved hip rotation through the shot.

Power starts with coordinated movement—not just swinging harder. Read the ball, create space and let your body work with your hands. Build the movement through purposeful practice and repetition. 💪🔥

🏏 Just 10 years old, with so much to learn and plenty of potential!

Arjun is at the beginning of his cricket journey. In this session, he’s learning to face sidearm pace and spin—exploring pulls, drives, back-foot defence and shots through midwicket.

There are promising moments, missed balls and mistakes along the way—all part of learning. We’re working step by step on reading the ball, choosing the right shot, head position and balance.

At this age, every shot doesn’t need to be perfect. The goal is to enjoy the game, build good habits and grow in confidence through practice.

Keep learning, Arjun. Trust the process—progress takes patience and repetition! 💪🏏

PAGE 15 | CHAPTER 12 — BACK-FOOT BATTING

🔥 READ THE LENGTH. MOVE BACK. CREATE SPACE. PLAY WITH CONTROL.

Great back-foot batting is not just about moving backwards — it’s about reading the delivery early, getting into the right position, maintaining balance, and creating scoring opportunities with confidence.

Against quality pace and spin, the ability to react quickly and control your body position can make the difference between surviving a delivery and dominating it.

🎯 6 KEY PRINCIPLES OF BACK-FOOT BATTING

🔴 1. READ LINE & LENGTH
Recognise short and back-of-a-length deliveries early. Good decision-making starts with picking up the ball from the bowler’s hand.

🔵 2. QUICK BACK-FOOT MOVEMENT
Move back and across as required by the delivery. Create enough space and time to execute your intended shot.

🔴 3. HEAD & EYE POSITION
Keep your head steady, maintain clear vision of the ball, and avoid falling away from the line of the delivery.

🔵 4. BALANCE & WEIGHT TRANSFER
Establish a strong back-foot base, transfer your weight appropriately, and maintain control throughout the movement.

🔴 5. BAT PATH, HANDS & TIMING
Maintain a controlled grip and coordinated hand movement. Adjust your bat path to the delivery and the shot — whether it’s a back-foot defence, punch, cut or pull.

🔵 6. POWER WITH CONTROL
True batting power comes from positioning, timing, bat speed and body coordination — not simply swinging harder.

⚡ THE ELITE BATTER’S FORMULA

READ EARLY → MOVE QUICKLY → CREATE SPACE → STAY BALANCED → TIME THE BALL → FINISH WITH CONTROL.

The best batters don’t commit blindly to the front foot or back foot. They read the length, make the right decision, and adapt their movement to the delivery.

“Good back-foot batting gives you time, options and confidence against pace and spin.”

Read the bounce. Stay balanced. Make the right decision. 🏏

This batting session focuses on reading short deliveries and choosing the right response—pulling when the line and height allow, playing the uppercut when there is width outside off stump, and leaving when the ball offers no controlled scoring option.

A balanced head position, responsive footwork and watching the ball closely help the batter create space and execute with control. Every delivery demands a fresh decision—knowing when to leave matters just as much as knowing when to attack.

🏏 HEAD POSITION IS KEY — EVERY BALL IS A CHANCE TO BUILD BETTER HABITS.

A well-balanced head position helps a batter track the ball and stay in control. Combine it with purposeful footwork and smooth hand extension, and you build the foundation for cleaner contact, better timing and controlled power.

In this session, we focused on head stability, reading line and length, moving into position and extending through the shot. The visual markings highlight the details players can learn from and apply in their own practice.

🔥 Watch the head. Follow the feet. Study the hands.
Young cricketers everywhere: practise with purpose, understand your movements and build confidence through repetition.

Complete batting preparation—where technique, decision-making and controlled power come together. 🏏

A focused session with Nik Manohar, covering front-foot and back-foot strokes, drives, cuts, pulls and lofted hitting. Net practice and varied throwdown drills challenge him to read each delivery, adjust his footwork and choose his scoring option.

The focus is on balanced movement, a steady head, clean contact and purposeful repetition—developing the control to place the ball and the confidence to attack when the opportunity comes.

Train with purpose. Build consistency. Be ready to perform.

Preparation meets performance on the Super Sixty stage! 🏏🔥

Sachi scored a valuable 41 for her team today, showcasing powerful sixes and impressive boundaries in the franchise league.

Ahead of the tournament, she trained with me, Coach Iqrar KPK, working on her batting and power hitting. Seeing her carry that preparation into a live match on this stage is a proud moment for me as her coach.

The credit belongs to Sachi for putting in the work and delivering when it mattered. Coaching provides direction; the player brings it to life through commitment, confidence and ex*****on. 👏

Well played, Sachi! Excited to see you and the other players I’ve worked with continue to perform and make their mark. 💪🏏

Watch the movements marked in this shot. The batter gets into position with a controlled trigger and front-foot movement, keeps the head steady, and brings the bat down from a high backlift. Full hand extension through the ball helps turn clean sweet-spot contact into a powerful lofted shot.

A six is never guaranteed, but these details give a batter the balance, timing and bat speed needed to clear the boundary. Practise the movement first; the power follows.
